Story Mission: Into Madness

Objectives: Follow Stank Gum’s Legion.

Get into the Magnum Opus and drive to the next green waypoint.  You will see Stank Gum’s Legion, but Max won’t battle these guys yet. Watch the cut scene and then travel north. Yet another green waypoint will appear on the map, this one taking you to Jeet’s Stronghold.  While driving there, stop at the abandoned ship and search it to locate a History Relic, one fuel can and two pieces of scrap.

Remain at the ship and look for the balloon on the farthest side. Get in and take this balloon as high as possible in order to access the Black Maws region.  Pull out your binoculars and look left to see three scarecrow locations, a sniper, two oil pump camps, a Death Run and a Top Dog camp.  Check beneath the second oil pump camp to spot another sniper. Now pan right to see Jeet’s Stronghold. Look below this and you will spy another scarecrow. Doing this unlocks fast travel for this area.

Take the balloon down and travel east until you come to another ship. Head inside to find shotgun ammo, scrap and a shiv. Get into the Magnum Opus and continue the mission.

We suggest viewing new locations on the map. Be sure to eliminate the scarecrows the reduce the threat level, thus allowing Griffa to appear; you will also obtain scrap. You will need to take down some snipers.

Objectives: Drive to Jeet’s stronghold, make a deal with Jeet, speak with Chum about the sniper rifle and collect the trigger mechanism.

After completing side missions, go to Jeet’s Stronghold. View the cinematic and then walk up the stairs on the left. Chat with Jeet, then visit the garage and talk to Chumbucket.  Now walk up those same stairs, where you will discover a trigger mechanism for the following marker.

Objectives: Install the sniper rifle, exit Jeet’s Stronghold, test the sniper rifle and drive to Dead Barrens Pass.

Return to Chumbucket and use 40 scrap to install the sniper rifle. When you finish doing this, step inside the Magnum Opus and leave. Since this is an open world game, you now have a variety of things to do. In addition to exploring scavenging locations, go on a Death Run and investigate scarecrows and camps; most of these are on the map, though visiting vantage outposts and driving around will reveal even more.

Should you choose to go to Dead Barrens Pass, expect resistance along the way. Speed past the camps, snipers and scavenging points, or deal with each one individually. Entirely up to you.

Once you reach Dead Barrens Pass, pick up the fuel can by the entrance. Now go up the ramp and take the ladder all the way to the top. Before turning right and heading down the path, look for another ladder nearby. Climb down and you will acquire some scrap.  Now go back up the ladder and continue left into the room, which will take Max further inside the complex. Go down the stairs and pick up the shotgun ammo, then continue until you encounter the Buckler.

In addition to the Buckler possessing a shield to block your strikes, you must dodge his attacks. When he lunges in your direction, immediately respond with multiple punches. After he recovers from the onslaught, remain a safe distance away and wait for him to do another lunge attack.  Repeat this pattern until he’s dead.

At this point, more enemies attack Max, but these guys are much easier to deal with. Kill them all and then walk into the northwest doorway to discover scrap inside of the room. Now head left into the doorway and walk straight until you see a room on the right. Go inside and pick up the History Relic.

Continue along the path and you’ll walk into another open area. Go left and Max will see a water source. Refill his canteen if necessary, then continue left. There’s another open area ahead, but just before you reach it there’s some scrap to the right.

Return to the main area and then take the stairs on the farthest side. Head all the way to the top, go into the room and use the bumpers on the right wall to climb up.

When you reach the top you’ll discover sniper ammo on the right, so pick this up and then climb the ladder. You’ll see steps on the right, but before going up, travel left and take the other set of stairs down. At the bottom, climb down the ladder and then walk into the tiny area to pick up some scrap. Now go back up the steps and watch the cut scene after reaching the top.

Objectives: Return to Chumbucket.

Head northeast and look for paint on the ground by the platform. Position Max in this area and then take the zip line to the rooftop. Check the corner for the last piece of scrap in this location, then walk northeast to the ladder and kick it down. Climb down this ladder and return to Chumbucket to finish this mission. To begin the next one, simply speak to Chum at the stronghold.

Story Mission: A Wasteland Classic

Objectives: Speak with Jeet, exit Jeet’s stronghold and find the required car body (Shovelface).

Inspect the requirements for archangel while in the garage, then chat with Jeet. From here, go down the steps and talk to Chum, which kicks off the first Wasteland Mission. Now go inside the Magnum Opus and exit the stronghold.

If you choose to continue with this mission, drive to Dry Gustie vantage outpost. You will unlock it if you get inside of the balloon, take it up and then use the binoculars to identify points of interest; you’ll encounter some enemies, but nothing you can’t handle.  Additionally, look for food near the grill and then water upstairs. By unlocking Dry Gustie, you can now fast travel to Blackmaws vantage point to finish the first Wasteland Mission (Dinki-Di).

Back to the main story mission! Travel to the green waypoint and dispose of the bad guys. Pick up the sniper ammo near the car body, then check for two pieces of scrap to the southwest. Now go right and reach the platform above Max. When you are at the top, take the ladder and pick up a Scrap Crew Project Part.

Objectives: Use the garage to install the upgrades for the Jack, drive to Gutgash’s stronghold, collect the welding wire and use the garage to install the final upgrade for the Jack.

Now that you have every piece of loot for this area, pause the game and then visit the garage. With the car body you recently discovered, switch the Magnum Opus chassis to the Shovelface. Now you must go to Gutgash’s stronghold (located west in the Parch Moon region). When you get there, follow the green waypoint up the steps and collect the welding wire.

Return to the garage and finish this mission by applying the baby bars armor. Doing this unlocks the archangels. You can’t start the next mission yet. First, you need to break apart one of the camps in Gutgash’s territory and achieve the rank of Day Lizard.
