Wellard

The first Tonic that you’ll unlock is the Wellard Tonic. This Tonic will give you one bonus Butterfly health slot, and its especially helpful if you haven’t yet learned all the Butterfly Booster locations. You’ll need to collect a total of 5 Pagies to unlock this Tonic.

Super Slam

The Super Slam Tonic is extremely useful because it gives Yooka and Laylee a more powerful Buddy Slam, which can come in handy against the right enemies. To unlock this Tonic, though, you will need to stun 30 enemies with the Sonar Shot.

Livewire

The Livewire Tonic allows your power meter to regenerate faster. This Tonic is outstanding if you’ve managed to find all the Power Extenders as you’ll have quite a bit of power to worry about regenerating. You’ll be able to unlock this Tonic by beating Rextro’s high score on three of his arcade machines.

Hoarder

This Tonic allows the player to collect Quills by using Yooka’s Lizard Lash skill, which is extremely useful if the Quills are just out of reach. You can unlock it by collecting a total of 300 Quills.

Hunter

The Hunter Tonic is perfect for those looking to find and collect all of the collectible items in the game. When activated, this Tonic will help the player sense rare items nearby by making the controller vibrate, or by making the item call out to you. In order to unlock this item you’ll have to find two Butterfly Boosters or Power Extenders.

To unlock this Tonic you’ll need to defeat 10 INEPT robot enemies. Equipping this Tonic will make Yooka’s Camo Cloak move last longer.

This Tonic is just for fun, but when equipped it will make all the voices in the game more high-pitched, making it sound like they’ve all been sucking helium out of balloons. You can only unlock this fun Tonic by completing the main story and beating Yooka-Laylee.

64-Bit

The 64-bit Tonic will make the game’s graphics look like they would on a Nintendo 64. There’s currently no info on how to unlock this Tonic, but we’ll keep our eyes open and update this article when we know how.

Baller

This Tonic, when activated, will make the Reptile Roll use less power, allowing the player to roll for much longer. You’ll have to defeat 100 enemies to unlock this Tonic.

Bruiser

If you have trouble staying alive, then you can activate this Tonic to gain additional health each time that you eat a Butterfly. Of course, you’ll have to unlock it first, which will require you to find and collect 10 of the 20 Pagies hidden inside of Hivory Towers.

This Tonic disables fall damage from great heights, allowing you to basically jump down from anywhere without having to worry about taking damage. You’ll have to collect 10 of the hidden Ghost Writers in the game to unlock this Tonic. For help check out our guide on how to find all of the Ghost Writers.

Salmon

Equipping this Tonic in Yooka-Laylee will allow you to hold your breath for much longer when underwater. It’s really useful if you haven’t unlocked the Bubble Walk skill, and it can be unlocked by defeating 10 underwater enemies.

Loaded

You can equip this Tonic to hold more ammo from berry bushes. This is useful because it allows your ability to last longer. To unlock it you will have to find and collect 15 Ghost Writers.

Butterthree

If you want to challenge yourself, then you can activate the Butterthree Tonic, which limits your health to three, no matter how many of the Butterfly Boosters you have found and collected. It’s a great Tonic if you want a challenge, and it can be unlocked by finishing the game.

Athlete

This Tonic increases the amount of power that you have, making your power meter much larger. This will allow you to make use of even more abilities before having to recharge, and it can be useful for those who love spamming Yooka and Laylee’s abilities. To unlock it you’ll need to find and collect all the Power Extenders in the game.

Pants

The final Tonic in the game will add pants to Yooka, allowing him to run around without being naked anymore. It’s a fun little Tonic that can be unlocked by collecting every Pagie in the game. Keep in mind that collecting 15 of these Tonics will reward you with an achievement, so that’s definitely worth grabbing, even if you don’t plan on using any of the Tonics.
