Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus – Unlock Uberkommandant Missions

Find out how to hunt down high value targets in Wolfenstein 2’s Uberkommandant missions.

In Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, taking down the enemies in the main story is only half the battle, and as you explore more of the game, you’re going to find quite a few hidden secrets that are well worth exploring. One of these secrets, the Uberkommandant missions, allow players to hunt down high-value targets within the Nazi army, allowing you to draw your weapons once more—even after beating the main game—and have some fun doing what William “B.J.” Blazkowicz does best, taking Nazis down.

How to Unlock Uberkommandant Missions

Unlocking Uberkommandant missions is not that hard of a thing to do, and as you play through the game, you’re going to come across several Kommandants in each area that you explore. These special enemies aren’t hard to kill, but they can trigger alarms and alert other enemies to your presence, making it extremely important to take them out if you aren’t looking for an all-out gunfight.

That being said, if you kill them, they’ll drop an Enigma Code. Normally these items are used to unlock new perks for Blazkowicz. The real kicker here, though, is that these Enigma Codes can also be used in the Enigma Machine. Doing so will unlock special, hidden, Uberkommandant missions, which will allow players to hunt down some of the strongest Nazi leaders in the game.

However, one thing to note is the fact that you won’t be able to actually unlock the Enigma Machine for usage until after you have returned to Manhattan to recover the New Orleans Dossier during “A New Suit”. Once you are back aboard the Evas Hammer, head to the Command Center and look for the Enigma Machine outside of Grace’s quarters.

Each and every Uberkommandant mission that you can unlock requires a certain amount of Enigma codes, and you’ll need to pay the Enigma Code cost before you can launch the mission and complete it. Once you’ve selected the mission—and paid for it—you’ll also need to complete a quick little mini-game, which if you are successful in, will allow you to continue.

The best way to make sure you have plenty of Enigma Codes is to take down all of the Kommandants that you come across during your playthrough. This will ensure you have plenty of Enigma Codes at your disposal, allowing you to never run out of Nazi-killing action. There’s a total of 16 Uberkommandant missions, which means you’ll need to take down a lot of Nazis if you want to unlock them all.

Now that you know how to unlock the Uberkommandant missions, and how to get the Enigma Machine, be sure to head back over to our Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus guide for even more helpful articles like this one.
