Why is the Knight Disabled in Dead by Daylight?

Nighty night, Knight.

The Knight is one of the trickiest characters to master and avoid in Dead by Daylight, but it looks like something has come up to remove him from the Trails. What’s the deal with The Knight right now, and is there an estimated time that they’ll return?

Why Can’t I Play The Knight in Dead by Daylight?

While plenty of characters get Disabled after a bug has been discovered, like the Cenobite, it seems that the Knight exploit is a bit trickier to figure out. Since December 19, 2023, players have been locked out of playing as this particular character due to an exploit that had been discovered that allowed players to summon multiple Spirits at once. This exploit was particularly nasty since The Knight is usually only allowed to summon one Spirit at a time, with a cooldown before launching the next.

With the Knight’s primary gimmick being these Spirits, this could either elongate a match or bring it to a close much faster than ever expected, so the team at Behaviour moved quickly to remove the Knight from the standard rotation.

When Will The Knight Return to Dead by Daylight?

As of the time of this writing, there is no estimated reinstatement time for the Knight in Dead by Daylight. As teams begin to go back to work after the Holiday season, there is a chance that we may see the Knight return soon, but it has not been confirmed.

With the addition of new Survivors like Alan Wake and a lengthy developer update that showcases all of the changes coming to the game, we can only assume that Behaviour is hard at work figuring out what went wrong with the Knight while working hard to get him back into the game for fans to use once again.
