Who is Zeekerss, the Developer of Lethal Company?

Mystery thickens...

Lethal Company is the Fall 2023 indie horror hit, with hundreds of thousands of active players playing the game daily. What’s even more impressive is that it was made by a single developer, Zeekerss, but who is the mastermind behind Lethal Company? Let’s find out.

Who Develops Lethal Company?

Yes, you read that correctly. Zeekerss is one person and not a team name. While there aren’t many pieces of information about Zeekerss, it’s still an interesting person to report on, and if things go well for Lethal Company, Zeekerss will inevitably reach a legendary status in the indie and horror gaming communities.

What is Zeekerss Known For?

Before making a leap to the development of standalone games on Unity Engine, Zeekerss developed some games on the Itch.io platform and has made quite a few interesting Roblox Experiences: Light Bulb and Silent Dark, to name a few. On Steam, Zeekerss published It Steals (July 2020), Dead Seater (February 2021), and The Upturned (March 2022) before “nailing it” with Lethal Company (October 2023).

The first three games have good reviews on Steam, but they never took off when it came to player count. Luckily, Zeekerss persisted in pushing the passion for game making, and here we are, enjoying Lethal Company as players, content creators, and content viewers.

What’s Zeekerss Real Name?

Zeekerss’s real name has yet to be publicly known. Zeekerss probably cares about maintaining privacy and separating their online persona from their real-life activities. Imagine becoming an icon of indie developers and being unable to confide to your closest friends that you are the superhero whose game they’ve been playing and enjoying for months. Privacy is difficult to maintain in this day and age, given how big the internet has grown, and how dependent we are on modern technology, but all respect to Zeekerss!

Will Zeekerss Update Lethal Company?

Lethal Company is currently in early access on Steam, so yes, Zeekerss will undoubtedly continue to update Lethal Company. Lethal Company won’t leave early access until it has been perfected (or at least close to it), so expect many more updates to come. Just be mindful that Zeekerss is only one person, so work on the game will likely be a slow process.

Zeekerss seems to regularly tweet out teases for upcoming updates, so you may want to keep an eye on their profile for a steady drip of Lethal Company plans and updates.
