How to Get Bottle Caps in Monster Hunter Stories 2

You can find Bottle Caps in Everdens or as rewards for completing certain quests and trials in Monster Hunter Stories 2.

There are a few ways you can get your hands on Bottle Caps. Co-op missions and certain quest rewards can earn you some here and there, but, by far, the most reliable way to find them is in Everdens. Everdens are similar to Monster Dens in Monster Hunter Stories 2, but they work a little differently. Everdens are usually larger, there are only a couple per area, and not only can you find monster eggs in there, but you can also find Bottle Caps.

Bottle Caps are found inside red chests in Everdens. Everdens contain regular chests, as well, and while they can sometimes contain Bottle Caps, you’re more likely to find another type of item. Red chests, however, always contain Bottle Caps.

Everdens are rarer than Monster Dens in Monster Hunter Stories 2, so the first step to finding Bottle Caps is to learn how to identify them. Everdens can be easily mistaken for Monster Dens, although their entrances are more square in shape. An Everden entrance will be made out of four long rectangular rocks with another rectangular rock lying across the top.

There are only a few Everdens in each location, so don’t forget to explore any you stumble across on your travels. Everdens aren’t swimming in Bottle Cap chests, either. There are only a couple in each one. Exploring as many dens as you find is the best way to have a consistent stream of Bottle Caps flowing your way.

If you find that you frequently miss Everdens as you explore the wild areas in Monster Hunter Stories 2, you may want to consider raising a monster with the Nest Search ability. This ability highlights all of the dens on your map, so you won’t have to tirelessly search for them yourself. There are a number of monsties with this skill, including Kulu-Ya-Kus, Great Jaggis, Great Baggis, Rathians, and Rajangs.

Once you find an Everden and head inside to explore its depths, check the mini-map in the bottom right corner of the screen. There, you will be able to see a general outline of the area, dots indicating what parts you’ve explored and what parts you haven’t, and you will be able to see treasure chest icons showing you the location of all the chests in the area. Make your way to each of these chests and collect everything you can before leaving! They won’t all be red Bottle Cap chests, but the regular chests are still well worth your time to seek out.
