Where to Find the Tissue Sample in Dead Space Remake

Thank you Isaac! But our Tissue Sample's in another sector!

Dead Space Remake Tissue Sample Objective

One of the bigger features introduced with the Dead Space Remake is the new side missions available from time to time. These ask you to go somewhat off the main path to complete small objectives, though gift you rewards as you do so. One such side mission is technically started early on but won’t have much meaning until later in the game. Here’s where to find the tissue sample in Dead Space Remake.

The reason you’re looking this up is probably that you found the DNA scanner at the beginning of the game, near Nicole’s lab. The scanner simply says Tissue Sample Needed with nothing else to guide you along. Chances are you’ve been scouring around the room for a tissue sample you might’ve missed, but we’re here to tell you not to bother. You’ll be wasting your time.

The tissue sample doesn’t show up until reaching the end of Chapter 5: Lethal Devotion. We aren’t going to say how you get it as there’s a rather interesting way you unlock it (and unexpected at the time). Point is, you’ll come across a small frozen room the minute you complete Chapter 5 and head into Chapter 6 (pictured above). Inside will be a necromorph body part with a glowing pink light on it. Lo and behold, it’s named Tissue Sample. Picking it up will start the second side mission in Dead Space Remake, Premeditated Malpractice. If you’ve made it this far in the guide, you know where to go next.

Side missions for Dead Space Remake are very interesting, and not just because of the resources you’ll get along the way. They flesh out certain aspects of the original’s story that were glossed over, though are completely avoidable should that not be your style. We recommend doing them, but it’s entirely your choice.
