Where to Find the ECS Constant in Starfield

Don't go Constant-ly looking for it.

While you explore the world of Starfield, you’re bound to find many different locations that all house something different for you to check out. Take the location of Red Mile on Porrima III, which is the base for a few missions alongside having a Ship Services Technician that sells ship parts for…less than legal ventures. One such location comes up during a side mission, though can be tough to find if you don’t know where to look. Here’s where to find the ECS Constant in Starfield.

How to Get to the ECS Constant in Starfield

The ECS Constant can be found orbiting the planet of Porrima II, in the Porrima system. This is the same planet where you find the resort Paradiso, which is the setting for various missions. The Porrima system is surrounded by the systems of Jaffa, Bolivar, Ophiuchi, and Lantana. Once found, click on Porrima II and press the listed Set Course key at the bottom right of the screen. This will send you to the orbit of Porrima II.

Once you’re in orbit, the ECS Constant may be identified as “Unidentified Ship.” Alas, it is the ship you’re looking for, and you’ll need to come within 500 meters of it to dock with it. However, I suggest you don’t board it until you’ve begun the mission First Contact. This comes up the instant you enter the orbit of Porrima II, and will ask you to speak with a Chief Sugiyama in Paradiso.

Is the ECS Constant Useful?

Besides being the location of the First Contact mission, there isn’t too much useful here. As you’ll come to learn later in the mission, the ship is very old and, therefore, doesn’t have too much use. However, that mission is a different story. If you want to complete the mission yourself, check out our guide on how to complete the First Contact mission in Starfield.
