Where to Find the Dark Moon Ring in Elden Ring

Elden Ring is filled with obtuse questlines, items that seemingly have no use until they do, and a bunch of hidden treasures to find. One thing you’re probably wondering about is the locked chest behind Renella in Raya Lucaria Academy. Here is where to find the Dark Moon Ring in Elden Ring.

Where to Find the Dark Moon Ring in Elden Ring

In order to get the Dark Moon Ring, you’re going to need to embark on a lengthy questline given to you by the Snow Witch Ranni. First, you’ll need to clear out the Caria Manor in the northwest section of Liurnia of the Lakes. Once reaching Ranni’s Rise found on the other side of the manor, you’ll need to talk to Ranni at the top of her tower.

After embarking on the quest, which takes you all over the underground sections of the map, you’ll eventually need to head back to Raya Lucaria Academy, specifically the grand library Site of Grace.

Here you’ll find Rennalla, who can respec your gear for a single Laraval Tear. However, you’re interested in what’s behind her, a locked chest.

You’ve probably tried to open this chest when you first beat her, but you didn’t have the Discarded Palace Key from defeating the Baleful Shadows as part of the Ranni questline.

Opening the chest will net you the Dark Moon Ring, and will allow you to open the door just past the Astral boss fight at the end of the Lake of Rot.
