How To Fix the Atelier Yumia Ultrawide Issue on PC

Ultrawide Atelier.

Believe it or not, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is already KOEI TECMO’s fifth release this year, and it’s still only March. This new entry in the Atelier series introduces Yumia Liessfeldt as the lead character, and like the last few Atelier games, it launched day one on Steam.

While it’s great that KOEI TECMO continues to support the PC platform, their ports’ quality is a bit of a mixed bag. While Atelier Yumia runs fine for the most part, it completely lacks any form of ultrawide support. As usual with KT releases, Lyall has released a patch to add ultrawide support to Atelier Yumia on PC.

Fixing the Atelier Yumia Ultrawide Issue

The patch from Lyall adds ultrawide support to Atelier Yumia while adjusting the FOV during both the regular gameplay and combat. It perfectly scales the HUD to custom resolutions, and you don’t need to configure anything.

Here is how you can install it:

  • Make sure Atelier Yumia isn’t running
  • Head over to the following GitHub link and select the most recent release (0.0.3 as of writing)
  • Download the patch file by clicking the AtelierYumiaFix_v0.0.3.zip under assets
  • Extract the zip file in the game’s installation folder.
    • Steam Deck users only: add WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command% to the launch options for Atelier Yumia.

That’s all you need to do and the next time you launch Atelier Yumia, the game will run perfectly in your desired ultrawide resolution. Here is a screenshot of the patch in action provided by Lyall.

As you can see, the HUD elements are correctly placed, and nothing feels out of order. Apart from adding ultrawide support, this patch from Lyall also skips through intro videos and logos.

All credits go to Lyall for creating and testing the patch. Their contributions are incredibly helpful for PC gamers, and you can learn about their work on their Patreon or Ko-fi pages

In the current version, there are a few minor issues that the patch introduces:

  • At wider than 21:9 aspect ratios, the crouch vignette does not span the screen fully.
  • At wider than 32:9 aspect ratios, the minimap image is duplicated at the edge of the screen.

None of these problems are game-breaking and are minor annoyances that I’m sure will be addressed in a future version of this patch. If these are bothering you, though, you can simply remove the patch by deleting the files that came with it and verifying the game files through Steam.

As with previous KOEI TECMO releases that lack ultrawide support, we don’t expect the developers to add it for Atelier Yumia either. This patch from Lyall is your best bet for now.
