Where to Find Sundelion in Tears of the Kingdom

Pick a petal, eat a petal.

Hyrule is full of fun things that you can jam together to create a series of questionable dishes and elixirs, each of which offers some benefit. But with the arrival of the Gloom and the now explorable Depths, Sundelions should be one flower you pluck immediately. Here’s where to find Sundelion in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to Find Sundelion in Tears of the Kingdom

Resources in TotK can feel a little scarce sometimes. Particularly those that can combat the Gloom, which is what makes the Sundelion so useful. This golden flower can restore health depleted by the Gloom, which occurs whenever you touch that red muck or the enemies infected by it.

But finding these flowers can be difficult, as they’re rare. Sundelions blossom in places with ample sun and here are all the places I’ve found them.

  • Sky Islands
  • Eventide Island
  • Near beaches
  • Hyrule Fields
  • Eldin Canyon
  • Gerudo Desert

These flowers tend to spawn one or two at a time, but I’ve found them most commonly while exploring sky islands to the North, near Death Mountain. This is right above Eldin Canyon, so it’s likely that “hot” places affect both the Sky and the ground level.

Once you have a Sundelion, you can combine it in pretty much any normal recipe. An apple and Sundelion will create “sunny steamed fruit”, for example, which will restore 3 gloom-broken hearts. Any plant and rock salt, plus a sundelion, will still create salt-grilled greens. But it will also gain the “sunny” modifier and repair gloom hearts.

It’s a universal plant for everything you cook! So, use it wherever you like.

If you intend to explore the Depths, you might be wondering what those strange blue wisps are… what you can trade them for once you have them. Check our guide on that here: What to Do with Poes in Tears of the Kingdom.
