The new Ubisoft shooter XDefiant is almost here. While it’s not releasing immediately, players will have another chance at trying the game out. After a successful Closed Beta hosted a few months ago, a new Open Session, welcoming all players on different platforms, will be held soon. Here’s when the XDefiant open session launches.
When Is The XDefiant Open Session Happening?
The XDefiant Open Session will be launching on June 21, lasting the whole weekend up to June 23. According to the creative director Safy Saada, all feedback received from the previous Closed Back was taken into consideration before releasing this new version to the public.
In fact, all players that previously participated in it during April are automatically enlisted to take part in this new testing period. They even have early access starting on June 20. If you haven’t got the chance to try XDefiant yet, you can sign yourself up at the official game site for your desired platform and wait for the release date.
The game is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, and crossplay is confirmed, after being experimented with during the first few Closed Tests. The full game is expected to release during the Summer with no set date yet.
According to the official announcement, XDefiant will feature up to 14 maps, five factions, 24 weapons, and more, with a full roadmap for the next year already planned, including 4 new seasons with more content in each of them.

Just be mindful that this is another beta test, so all progress obtained here will be removed after full release. But not really. A few rewards obtained in the first Closed Beta will be kept during the full launch, so expect that more of those will also be around during this Open Session. It’s also the perfect time to know if you’re ready to delve into this new shooter option or not, so enjoy!
