The holiday season offers a number of things to look forward to, including the arrival of the Turkey Day event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! When Does Turkey Day Start in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

The short answer to the question of when Turkey Day will begin in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is Thursday, November 26 at 9 a.m. (local time).

For gamers who like to use time travel to access events and activities early, we’ve got some bad news as it seems like Turkey Day is locked and inaccessible until November 26.

Because of this, you can’t time travel to November 26 in-game and start the event early. As for what you can expect from the Turkey Day event itself, there have been a few teasers in the game including a mention from Isabelle that a “pro chef” will visit your island on November 26.

When this chef arrives, they’ll post up in the plaza and will cook for you and everyone else on your island. Naturally, cooking requires ingredients, and as you might’ve guessed, collecting ingredients will be one of the main activities for players to enjoy during the Turkey Day event.

While waiting for the Turkey Day event to begin, you can take the time to go around growing and collecting ingredients like mushrooms (Northern Hemisphere) and pumpkins (can purchase Pumpkin Starts from Leif).

Other ingredients you may want to collect include a few manila clams and things you need to dive for like mussels, dungeness crabs, and sea urchins. As a reward for cooking tasty dishes during the Turkey Day event, you’ll get DIY recipes for some cute Thanksgiving-themed items and furniture.

For example, you’ll be able to get a Turkey Day Table and Turkey Day accessories like Casserole and Table Settings. These items are great because even though you won’t be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with family this year, you can invite them over to your Animal Crossing island and celebrate with them that way.

It’s just an idea, either way the Thanksgiving furniture sounds super cute and we can’t wait to get our hands on all of the items during the Turkey Day event on November 26. To recap, Turkey Day will start on Thursday, November 26 at 9 a.m. (local time).

You can’t time travel and access the event early, but you can collect ingredients ahead of time like mushrooms and pumpkins.
