When Does Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 Start?

The first question that Fortnite players have is when will Season 5 end and Season 6 begin? The answer to this question is March 16, 2021. The Week 15 Challenges will be the last in Fortnite and will run from Thursday, March 11 until Tuesday, March 16.

An exact time has yet to be provided by Epic Games, though they did share a post addressing the upcoming launch of Season 6 in Fortnite

“Chapter 2 Season 6 launches on March 16 with the explosive conclusion of the events of Season 5. When you first launch into the new Season, you’ll play through the conclusion of Agent Jones’ mission in the Zero Crisis Finale. The aftermath of this event is sure to shape Reality as we know it.

Don’t worry, the Zero Crisis Finale is a solo experience and you can play through it whenever you first log in during the Season. Want to watch it online first? We’ll share details soon on how you can watch the global premiere with everyone, beginning with our most ambitious story cinematic yet!”

The post from Epic Games goes on to briefly detail a few tips on activities Fortnite players can partake in prior to the launch of Season 6. Specifically, recommendations are made to spend your Bars for things like upgraded weapons.

“Exotic Weapon prices have never been lower,” Epic explains. It’s also noted that your cache of Bars will be reset at the end of Season 5 with a hint at “exciting improvements” to come in Chapter 2 Season 6. With the arrival of Season 6 comes a brand new Battle Pass.

If you’re still working to earn all of the rewards offered in the Season 5 Battle Pass, Epic Games reminds players that there’s only one week remaining to finish your Beskar Quests, complete Mando’s Beskar Armor, and unlock The Child Back Bling once you reach Level 100 of the Battle Pass.

If you rank up your Battle Pass, you can unlock post-Level 100 Crystal Styles including glimmering styles for Reese, Mancake, Mave, Kondor, and Menace. Finally, Epic says that if you missed out on the Breathless Blades reward during the Hearts Wild Team Battles, you can complete Fishstick’s or Lovely’s Epic Quests before the end of Season 5 to unlock the pickaxe a few days after the start of Season 6.

Unrelated to Season 6 directly but also worth keeping in mind is that various Outfit sets have been made available once more in Fortnite’s Item Shop. For a limited time, you can grab Master Chief, Kratos, Daredevil, and more including Ant-Man, Venom, Ghost Rider, and Blade.

With that out of the way, here’s a quick recap. Season 5 will end on March 16 after which Season 6 will begin in Fortnite. As part of the Season 6 launch, you’ll be able to play through the conclusion of Agent Jones’ mission in the Zero Crisis Finale.

This will be a solo experience that you can play whenever you first log in after Season 6 goes live, it won’t be a timed experience. Epic Games has promised to share additional details about the global premiere and their “ambitious story cinematic yet” soon, so stay tuned for new information as it’s made available.

Until then, don’t forget to complete your Season 5 Battle Pass while it’s still available, and spend your Bars on things like Exotic Weapon upgrades as Bars will be reset with the arrival of Season 6.
