What to Do After Beating the Diablo 4 Campaign

What comes after the big battle?

After you complete the main campaign in Diablo 4, it might seem like you finished the largest part of the game, but it’s really only the start of your journey. In this guide, I will cover where you should go after defeating the main campaign boss and what to expect in the end game.

Capstone Dungeon and World Tiers after the Campaign in Diablo 4

Once you finish the main story, your next goal should be completing the Capstone Dungeon. This is the only way to jump from World Tier 2 into World Tier 3. Aside from more difficult monsters, World Tier 3 means Sacred Armor can drop and monsters will give out 100% more XP.

You can find the Capstone Dungeon in Kyovashad as a Priority Quest. Depending on your level, this can be a tough dungeon, but starting around level 50 will make the process much easier. After level 50, you will have Paragon Points that make your character even more powerful.

After completing the Capstone Dungeon, I would recommend using World Tier 3 right away and taking advantage of the better gear or the increase in overall XP.

World Bosses and Helltides in Diablo 4

Now that you have unlocked World Tier 3, it’s time to start taking on events. World Bosses technically unlock at the end of the Campaign in World Tier 2, but they are still a great way to ensure rare armor drops in the late-game aspect of Diablo 4. However, Helltide events are even better.

Helltides go live every 75 minutes and they last for an hour. Within the Helltides, there are all kinds of chests that can be opened with Aberrant Cinders, and most of the time, Legendary items will drop. Your goal at this point is to collect as much Sacred Armor as you can and earn XP so you can climb through the Paragon Board.

Nightmare Dungeons and Grim Favors in Diablo 4

Some other fantastic end-game activities are the Grim Favors and Nightmare Dungeons. Like the World Bosses, the Grim Favors and the Tree of Whispers are unlocked at the end of the campaign. Regardless of World Tier, these are a great passive way to earn Legendary item containers and significant XP rewards.

Of these two activities though, the Nightmare Dungeons are far more important. These unlock at World Tier 3 and they are tougher versions of dungeons with new modifiers. You must be on World Tier 3 or higher to unlock the Sigils that provide access to the Nightmare Dungeons.

I run Nightmares all the time so that I have a higher drop rate for Legendary Items and so I can upgrade my Glyphs. The Glyphs in Diablo 4 are an important part of the Paragon Board that will boost your character. You’ll want to supplement this with all the tasks from above until you are strong enough to reach World Tier 4.
