Aside from building numerous outposts across the galaxy, going directly to vendors is one the best ways to garner resources in Starfield. Not every vendor is equal though, and in this guide, we’ll cover which place is the best to buy resources in Starfield.
Best Place to Buy Resources in Starfield
The best vendor to buy resources from in Starfield is Wen Tseng at the UC Distribution Center in New Atlantis. You can find the distribution building in the Commercial District of New Atlantis, which is located on planet Jemison. This is one of the main planets in the game and you can find Jemison by heading to the Alpha Centauri system.
To find the UC Distribution Center, head to the Commercial District and look for the SSNN building. If you take the NAT transit or you fast travel, the SSNN building should be to your right. From there, you can head straight and look for the distribution center on your right. It won’t be a normal shop with a small door. Instead, you technically need to load in.
When you get inside the UC Distribution Center, speak to Wen Tseng at the main counter. She has everything you need as a vendor, and if you compare her wares to most other vendors, you’ll see the selection is massive. Nearly any resource you can think of is in high supply, including Adhesives and Titanium, which we needed tons of for my weapon mods.
In terms of pricing, this vendor won’t be any better than other options. So, if you’re looking for the cheapest place to buy resources in Starfield, this is not for you. But if you just need to stack up on rare metals and elements, then look no further.
Other Best Places to Buy Resources in Starfield
If you’re not near the UC Distribution center, here is a list of Starfield’s best places to buy resources:
Jemison Mercantile (In New Atlantis)
Jemison Mercantile in Starfield stands out as on of the best go-to shops for resource buying in Starfield. This versatile store not only buys almost anything from you but also sells an array of resources such as iron, tungsten, adhesive, and even digipicks. You can find Jemison Mercantile at the New Atlantis spaceport on Jemison in Alpha Centauri.
Mining League (In Neon)
The Mining League on Neon specializes exclusively in rocks and minerals, making it an excellent choice for tungsten and other rare rocks like uranium. However, it focuses solely on solid materials and doesn’t offer liquids or gases. If you’re in need of Helium-3 for your mining outpost, you’ll have to explore other options. Find the Mining League right across from the Trade Authority and directly to your left upon exiting the elevator from the Neon spaceport.
UC Exchange (In Cydonia)
Cydonia’s UC Exchange boasts one of the most diverse resource offerings in Starfield’s universe, featuring over 50 different types of resources. Whenever you’re in the vicinity, it’s worth a visit to procure rare resources. To reach UC Exchange, enter the Cydonia mining colony, head forward down the ramp, and take the third door on your left, just before the walkway leading deeper into the station. (If you’re familiar with the Trade Authority store in Cydonia, UC Exchange is directly across from it.)
Your Local Trade Authority
The Trade Authority, while not primarily a resource shop, occasionally stocks resources depending on the location. It’s beneficial to be aware of this before entering. If you’re looking to stock up on resources before returning to your base, a quick visit to the Trade Authority might yield some valuable finds. Keep in mind that the Trade Authority’s resource selection, although occasionally featuring rare items like Legendary caesium, is limited compared to general or resource stores. Treat it as a supplementary resource stop during your time in town.
How to Refresh a Vendor’s Supply and Credits in Starfield
You can easily restock a vendor’s credits by waiting for 24 Local Hours. Find a chair or bed and choose to wait for 24 Local Hours.
To refresh a vendor’s inventory, wait 48 Local Hours. Find a suitable seating or sleeping area and select the maximum duration. Repeat this process a second time to accumulate a total of 48 Local Hours.
You can reset a ship vendor’s inventory by traveling to Venus in the Sol star system. Take a rest for 24 Local Hours on your ship and subsequently revisit a ship vendor to review their inventory. This strategy is particularly effective because 1 Hour on Venus equates to 100 Hours in Universal Time. By sleeping there, you ensure you’ve advanced time enough to reset the inventory of every known ship vendor in the game.
Once you have the resources you need, learn how you can start researching weapon mods in Starfield.
