Frieza is a character you’ll see often in Dragon Ball FighterZ, but you may not see the Golden Frieza form used very often. A lot of people simply don’t know what Golden Frieza does in Dragon Ball FighterZ, so we’re here to answer that question. This article covers what Golden Frieza does in Dragon Ball FighterZ so you can make the most of one of the few install super moves in the game. If you haven’t been using Golden Frieza, you probably will after you read on.
Golden Frieza in Dragon Ball FighterZ
- 20 Second Duration
- 20 Percent Damage Boost
- Double Air Dash
- Faster Movement Speed
Golden Frieza lasts for a total of 20 seconds. However, the timer doesn’t start until the full transformation animation completes. The main benefits of the Golden Frieza are a 20 percent increase in damage to all attacks, faster movement speed, and the ability to dash twice in the air. The damage increase and movement speed boost are clear advantages, but the double air dash may be a bit harder to understand.
Normally you can only dash (Forward, Forward or Back, Back) once in the air, and you can’t dash at all after a double jump. However, with Golden Frieza active, you can dash twice in the air. That means you can double dash forward, double dash back, or use a forward dash once and a back dash once before you land again. You can move across the screen very quickly with the ability to double dash forward or back, or you can create some tricky left/right mix-ups in the air with a forward dash followed by a quick back dash. You can also double jump, then still dash forward or back, which other characters cannot do.
When you couple the abilities of Golden Frieza with what you get from Sparking Blast, it makes Frieza a very scary character. Once Sparking Blast is active you can cancel blocked normal attacks into a jump (Jump Cancel). When you add in the ability to double air dash, this makes Golden Frieza’s offensive pressure insanely difficult to deal with. You can pull off an instant air dash (IAD) into a blocked aerial Heavy Attack, then Jump Cancel that into a forward dash for another aerial Heavy Attack, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
We’ll have more on Golden Frieza in the future, but for now you can check out a general tips article in our Dragon Ball FighterZ game hub!
