Was Welcome Home a Real Show? – Welcome Home ARG Lore Explained
If you’ve taken a stroll around the colorful Welcome Home site, you’ll quickly realize that it’s meant to be dedicated to the lost television show, Welcome Home. Thus, the name The Welcome Home Restoration Project!
But how much of it is real? The site is well-written, well-illustrated, and altogether a professional product. It’d be easy to think that there really is a show that’s spawned such a beautiful passion project. Unfortunately, Welcome Home is not a real television show, and it never has been.
It’s likely that the show this site is based on took inspiration from Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and a few Creepypastas. One Creepypasta in particular was probably influential, and that’s the infamous Candle Cove.
