Was the MTZ Interceptor Nerfed in Warzone? – Answered

In the trash it goes

Within a week of the Warzone release alongside MW3, the MTZ Interceptor became the king of the meta, but that could all change with a nerf. With Season 1 Reloaded right around the corner and some player complaints, the nerf could be here sooner than you expect.

Warzone Season 1 – Was the MTZ Interceptor Nerfed?

The short answer is yes, the MTZ Interceptor will be nerfed in a small update to Warzone that goes live on January 11, 2024. This update was confirmed shortly after the Season 1 Reloaded blog post was released for MW3 and the Battle Royale alike. Unlike the rest of the content that was unveiled though, this update is meant to quell the Interceptor specifically.

On the Raven Software Twitter, there was a confirmation for an MTZ Interceptor nerf and some bug fixes that would go live on January 11. In their words, “Tomorrow’s Warzone update addresses balance concerns with the MTZ Interceptor, alongside several other bugs.” Of course, the only way to go with the Interceptor is down, so expect some stats to take a hit.

What exactly will be changed remains to be seen. The main issue with the weapon is how fast it kills with just 3-4 well-placed shots. Most players used a 20-Round Magazine as well, so wiping out squads in the blink of an eye is no problem at all. And when an entire team is using the rifle, the rest of the lobby better find one quickly.

Raven Software also confirmed that far more weapon balance changes would go live with the Season 1 Reloaded update on January 17. With that in mind, the meta won’t truly begin to reform until we can all see which weapons have been affected. But you can still check back to see what the full nerf was on the Warzone MTZ Interceptor.

Before then, try out the standard build for the MTZ Interceptor in MW3 where it will likely remain untouched.
