Riot Games has been rolling out the newest 1.05 patch to Valorant today, ahead of tomorrow’s launch of Valorant Act II and all the new stuff set to come with it. Considering how excited folks are to hop in and check everything out, it comes as no surprise that the community is consistently running into problems. The biggest culprit today is Volorant error code 39, which isn’t included on Riot Game’s known issue list as of this writing. The good news is that error code 39 isn’t a huge issue, but the bad news is you aren’t going to be able to fix it on the user end.
Valorant Error Code 39 and How to Fix it
As the 1.05 patch is rolled out across the world, the error code 39 issue is largely hitting players in North America. But with new patches come server maintenance, and especially server downtime. That’s exactly what’s happening here. If you’re getting Valorant error code 39 while you’re trying to access the game today, you’re just going to have to try again later.

Unfortunately there isn’t much else you can do. Valorant error code 39 is related to server connections, and can cause players running into it to be stopped as early as the login screen. It’s location-based, and pretty much just means whatever chunk of servers your game is attempting to connect to are not active. This is something you’re simply going to have to wait out as Riot Games continues rolling out the new update.
In the meantime, you can hop over to the official Valorant website, and check the server status there. That way you won’t have to waste your time launching Valorant to check in on the servers. It’s just going to be a matter of time today for North American players to get back into their Valorant games, but for now you’re going to have to play the waiting game instead.
Hopefully, since Riot Games is rolling the patch out today, things will be much more smooth tomorrow when Act II is set to officially launch. Of course, the number of players overall will probably spike, so brace yourself for more issues that might come up before the dust settles. Unfortunately there may be even more issues the following day, as that’s when the FFA Deathmatch mode will be entering its beta window phase. But hey, this stuff happens like clockwork when new content drops. It’ll work out eventually.
