Omen has been temporarily removed from Valorant after a recent patch accidentally made him way too powerful for his own good. The most recent Valorant update made a few critical improvements to hit effects and some notable changes to quite a few of the heroes, but it was one change to Omen that pretty much accounted for one massive oopsie.
In the video below, courtesy of PC Gamer, we can see the change in Omen clearly in a way that massively throws off the balance of the match:
When the issue was reported, it was massively seen as a map glitch, not an issue with Omen itself. As more reports came into play, it was clear that the issue was a direct result of the recent patch and changes made to this character, which caused Riot to temporarily remove him altogether.
What we thought was a map bug for Omen teleporting past the spawn barriers… is actually an issue with Omen, so we’re disabling him until we have a _real_ fix. Which is hopefully tomorrow.
Sorry for all of the disruptions.

Luckily, the team deployed a hotfix very quickly and it looks like he’s back in working order for most regions, though NA/BR/LATAM areas will still need to wait until 2 AM ET on September 4th.

We wanted him to become powerful but sometimes there’s too much of a good thing.
