Risk of Rain Returns: How to Unlock Artifact of Honor
To unlock the Artifact of Honor in the Risk of Rain Returns, you must find it on the Desolate Forest stage. There are two different locations of the Artifact of Honor and depending on what variant you spawn on, it will determine what needs to be done to get to it and unlock it.
Artifact of Honor Locations in the Desolate Forest
On two variants of the Desolate Forest stage, using a movement ability or movement item will be important to reach the artifact. Climb down the middle rope to get to the bottom level. While climbing you’ll notice a platform and a waterfall on the far left.
Using movement abilities or items, you must get onto the platform and walk behind the waterfall. From there, jump onto the next ledge and using special abilities and items again make it across to the next platform where the Artifact of Honor can be seen.
In the image below, you’ll notice a second location where you can find the artifact. Using the same method above, you’ll need movement abilities or items and search for the item on the far left of the stage in the lower level.
Desolate Forest Third Variant
Here, you’ll need to find the secret vine to get to the secret area. Using the waterfall on the top level as the landmark, look to the right of the waterfall for an escape pod stuck in the ground.
Just in front of the escape pod will be the entrance to the secret vine. Find it and climb down it until you are in the secret area. Walk to the other side and you’ll see the artifact.
What Does the Artifact of Honor Do in Risk of Rain Returns?
The Artifact of Honor increases the difficulty of Risk of Rain Returns. It spawns all your enemies in their elite form, making the fight against them much tougher than what you experience when playing in Rainstorm and Monsoon Mode.
If you battled to play the game in any of the abovementioned difficulties, then the Artifact of Honor is not for you. If you’re a player who enjoys a grueling challenge and wants to test their might at the highest level the game has to offer, then unlocking this particular artifact is for you.
