How to Catch Tilapia in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

by Nicholas Barth

The world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a variety of creatures that players can encounter and catch. Some of these unique creatures are found in aquatic environments, with one of them being the Tilapia. This fish would be an excellent addition to the collection of any player. Fortunately, we have everything you need to know to encounter and catch a Tilapia in Animal Crossing: New Horizons covered for you.

Tilapia Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Players will find that the Tilapia will spawn in rivers, so those interested in obtaining this aquatic creature will need to visit the rivers on their island or someone else’s island. However, players can not find these creatures in rivers at any time of the year. Tilapia will spawn in rivers between the months of June and October in the Northern Hemisphere. Animal Crossing: New Horizons players in the Southern Hemisphere will be able to encounter and catch Tilapia in January, February, March, April, and December.

It is also important to note that this creature will spawn at any time of the day. Players can encounter and catch Tilapia at any time of the day, which means that players will not have to set aside some dedicated time during a specific time period if they want to have a chance at catching one of these critters in a river.

You will find that this aquatic creature is medium in size, which means those looking to catch a Tilapia will need to focus on medium shadow sizes in the rivers. This particular creature is worth a total of 800 Bells, so players can acquire a decent amount of Bells if they gather and sell a substantial amount of these creatures.

There is no doubt that players can reap some benefits by taking the time to search out and catch these critters in the rivers on their island.
