Tears of the Kingdom – Where to Find the Giant White Stallion in TotK

YEE HAW

Finding ‘special’ or ‘rare’ horses in Tears of the Kingdom might not be at the top of your to-do list, but as you wander around you’re bound to encounter some out-of-the-ordinary ponies to add to your stable. In fact, there are rare horses of all patterns, shapes, and sizes to meet throughout Hyrule, and one, in particular, is larger than life. As you spend time in the Stables you find along your journey, you may catch word of a towering horse hiding southeast of the Highland Stable, but its location isn’t precisely pinpointed. Fortunately, it’s not too tricky of a stallion to find.

Where is the Giant White Stallion in Tears of the Kingdom?

As the stablehand states at the Highland Stable, the Giant White Stallion can be found toward the southeast, near a body of water titled “Lake of the Horse God” (fitting, right?) The lake will be labeled on your map already, and you’ll notice a bridge across the last and a path leading to the right, but it swiftly hits a dead end. At the end of the path just beyond the Horse God Bridge, you’ll find the Giant White Stallion standing in the center of the valley, ready to be soothed.

You can either follow the path with a horse you’ve already tamed, crossing the bridge and finding the White Stallion at the end, or you can head straight from the stable in a straight line southeast, but be prepared for a bit of climbing. Should you take the easy route, you’ll come across a Stone Talus before crossing the bridge, but you’ll be able to swiftly ride past, whereas if you travel by foot straight from the stable to the valley, you’ll come across a monster camp.

How to Tame the Giant White Stallion in Tears of the Kingdom

When it comes to taming the horse, it’ll put up more of a fight than your standard plain-dwelling mare. You’ll need more than just one wheel of stamina, otherwise, you’ll be unable to soothe and then ride the horse back to a stable. Generally, it’s best to come equipped with a few stamina-restoring meals so you’ll be able to quickly replenish your energy once your wheel has depleted, but if you’ve already got two full stamina wheels, you might be able to miss out on meal prep, but you’ll need to go pretty ham on soothing.

As you would with a normal horse, it’s best to sneak up behind the animal making sure not to move too quickly and startle it. As soon as you can see the mount command, jump on and try your best to soothe it. Given you’re snacking away on whichever stamina-restoring snacks you’ve prepared, it should be fairly easy to soothe and lead back to the Highland Stable to board as one of your own. Given its size, you won’t be able to customize its bridle or saddle, but it’s still a worthy addition to your collection.
