The Surge 2 Delver Guide: How to Defeat This Boss

Buckle up, because you’re probably going to be in for the long haul. The Delver boss fight has three very distinct phases, and they can be tough to deal with if you’re not properly informed. We’ll talk you through each phase so that you’re not left in the dark here.

The Surge 2 Delver Guide: Phase 1

This is probably the easiest part of The Surge 2 Delver boss fight. Delver essentially tries to punch you down, and you’ll be no stranger to that sort of combat considering you’ve probably run out of fingers and toes to count the punches that you’ve avoided in the game so far. Our easy tip for this particular phase is to make sure that you’re not within punching range and to aim for the legs. You’re going to have to make sure that you watch out for the lunging.

The Surge 2 Delver Guide: Phase 2

Delver is a bit of a tosser in phase two, and we’re not using that term lightly. We consider Delver a bit of a dog, and that’s because Delver literally turns into one during this phase. If you thought that the lunging was bad, it’s about to get a whole lot worse because it’s going to keep throwing itself at you until you stop moving. It will also hurl a bunch of nanites, but our strategy is to essentially wait this out while Delver gets exhausted. Keep a keen eye on the nanites as they scatter, and shoot them so Delver can’t take the opportunity to heal off them. When the boss is skidding across the floor, do as much damage as you can to push it into the next phase.

The Surge 2 Delver Guide: Phase 3

Now you’re talking about the last phase of this particular boss fight so honestly, the end is in sight. Our hot tip for this bit is to make sure that you absolutely don’t get hit by Delver. That sounds a bit ridiculous, but we’re repeating this fact because of an attack that will absolutely destroy you. Delver will bodily fling itself at you with everything that it’s got, and your job here is simple: leave well alone here. Every time it tries to do this, you can capitalize on its stillness afterwards and get damage in. Repeat this and narrowly save yourself from the jaws of death each time before giving Delver a royal ass-kicking and you’ll be on your way to a victory.
