Like the various other characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate—there are over 60 that you can unlock—Cloud can be unlocked in Smash Ultimate in a multitude of different ways. Each way to unlock Cloud in Smash Ultimate is based around the various modes available in the game, and this should give players a nice way to work towards updating their roster no matter which modes they frequent. Here’s everything you need to know to unlock Cloud in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
How to Unlock Cloud
As with our guide on how to unlock Luigi, we’ll be going over the main methods with which you can unlock Cloud in this article. One thing you will want to keep in mind while playing the game is that each mode offers a special way to unlock the character, though some are faster than others. We’ve outlined the different ways below, so let’s dive right in.
VS Mode
The first way that you can unlock Cloud is by simply playing VS Mode. This is probably the slowest route, though, as Cloud unlocks as the 56th fighter in the game, which means you’re going to be grinding out VS matches for quite a while if you want to unlock this iconic character.
Of course, this is perfectly reasonable if you really only enjoy VS mode, but definitely not the quickest way to go about getting the job done.
World of Light
The second method you can use to unlock Cloud is found in World of Light. Fight through the World of Light until after you enter the World of Dark Sacred Land. Once you beat Zelda here, you will open a new path that leads you to Cloud. Fight and defeat the skilled fighter to unlock him. Of course, this is later on in the latter half of the game, so it might take you a while to reach him.
Classic Mode
As with Luigi, unlocking Cloud is easiest and quickest in Classic Mode. While fighting in Classic Mode, make sure to use Dark Samus to complete the Classic Mode and win all of your matches. This will unlock Cloud for you, giving you a chance to fight him and add Cloud to your roster. If you haven’t unlocked Dark Samus, then team up with another player and complete Classic Mode in two-player to unlock the Dark Samus variant.
Now that you’ve unlocked Cloud, you can start bashing in some heads. Head back over to our Super Smash Bros. Ultimate guides for more helpful information and content like this.
