StarRupture is out now in early access on Steam, and it’s a fun base-building title with plenty of exploration and combat sprinkled in to the mix. Since this is an early access release, the game will continue to evolve, and more features will be added in future updates.

However, if you want to access your local progress data, here is the save file location for StarRupture on PC.

StarRupture Save File Location

ClientSave File Location
SteamC:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[Your_Unique_User_ID]\1631270\remote\Saved\SaveGames

Inside the remote folder, you’ll find another “Saved” folder, which contains the individual save (.sav) files. To keep things simple, I recommend backing up the entire StarRupture folder inside Local instead.

Does StarRupture Have Multiple Save Slots?

Yes, you can create multiple profiles in StarRupture, each with 10 individual manual slots and three autosave slots.

I’m not sure how many total profiles you can create, but it seems to be a lot. Rest assured, you can have multiple sessions and choose between single-player and multiplayer without a hassle. You can swap between the active profiles by selecting “Load Game” in the main menu. It’s very well-organized with a lot of flexibility.

StarRupture is already in a fairly polished state, but it is possible that a major update can make older save files incompatible, which can happen during early access. However, it already feels quite feature-complete in many ways, so I doubt it’ll happen.

StarRupture Steam Features

StarRupture has the following features on Steam:

  • Steam Family Sharing: If you own a copy of StarRupture, members of your Steam family can access it in their libraries.
  • Steam Cloud: Your local data is uploaded to the Steam Cloud and redownloaded on every other device where you have Steam installed if you want to pick up your progress elsewhere.

For an early access title, StarRupture is making the right decisions so far, and I’m glad that extensive profile management is available from the get-go.
