Like many other Unreal Engine 5 titles, Star Wars: Galactic Racer has the standard save data path. I recommend backing up the entire StarWarsGalacticRacer folder within Local, since it has multiple subfolders, each with different progress and user data. The actual save files are stored in the SaveGames folder within Saved, followed by your unique Steam numeric ID. These are in the sav format, but it’s just easier to back up the entire thing instead of looking for specific files.

You can reach the same save location by entering the following address in Windows Run or File Explorer:

%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/StarWarsGalacticRacer/Saved/SaveGames/

Then just open the folder with your unique Steam ID. You can also find configuration files (Engine.ini and GameUserSettings.ini) in the Config folder within Saved.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer Steam Features

On PC, Star Wars: Galactic Racer has the following Steam features:

  • Steam Cloud: Your progress is automatically uploaded to the Steam Cloud after you close the title and downloaded again if you access the game on a different device.
  • Steam Family Sharing: If you own a copy of Star Wars Galactic Racer, members of your Steam family can access it in their libraries.
  • Steam Input: While the game supports multiple controllers natively, you can use Steam Input to get third-party controllers working with little trouble.

As of writing, Star Wars: Galactic Racer hasn’t been verified for the Steam Deck.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer’s performance is solid overall, with some stuttering outside of races. I hope they address that in an update, because the actual racing is really smooth.
