How to Unlock Mean Bean Mini Game

In order to unlock the Mean Bean mini game you’re going to need to start collecting blue spheres in the Get Blue Spheres mini-game, which can be activated from any checkpoint after you’ve found and collected a total of 25 rings in the level. Once you’ve headed into the level, continue grabbing the blue spheres scattered throughout. The more you can grab, the better your odds of earning a high scoring medal.

These medals are the items you’re after, as they allow you to unlock different items in the extras menu for Sonic Mania. It’s a nice little addition to the game, and while you will need to collect quite a few—we’re not quite sure what the actual number is at this moment—to unlock the feature, it’s well worth the wait and the work that is required.

What exactly is the Mean Bean mini game? Well, the easiest way to explain it is that it’s the basically the Sonic version of PuyoPuyo, which is great especially for Xbox One owners, as they didn’t get access to Tetris vs. PuyoPuyo, and since the mode includes five different speeds, as well as the option to play against the AI or against other players, it’s a nice little addition to see in the extras menu.
