How To Skip Mafia The Old Country’s Intro Videos on PC

Get rid of these.

Mafia: The Old Country is another decent entry in the long-running series from Hangar 13 and 2K Games. It’s a high-stakes, narrative-driven action-adventure game with plenty of memorable moments and solid action. However, getting to that sweet story can take a while because of the several intro splashes.

Here is how you can skip the intro videos in Mafia: The Old Country if you’re playing on PC.

Skip Mafia The Old Country’s Intro Videos

To skip the intro videos in Mafia: The Old Country, you can grab a simple mod on Nexus Mods created by Gametism that does exactly what it advertises, which is to skip all the intro stuff apart from the shader compilation process.

Here is how you can install it:

  • First, make sure the game isn’t currently running.
  • Next, open the following link and download the mod file.
  • Now, head over to where Mafia: The Old Country is installed:
    • Right-click on Mafia: The Old Country in the Steam library.
    • Select Manage, followed by Browse local files.
  • Here, extract the mod zip file and replace any files it asks to.

That’s all you need to do, and the next time you launch Mafia: The Old Country, it will jump straight to the main menu, saving your precious time.

It’s possible that when the game is updated and the files are verified, the mod stops working, in which case you simply need to extract the files again.

While the modding scene isn’t too active for Mafia: The Old Country, there are a few that stand out, outside of the intro skipping one. Give these a look if you want a potentially easier experience:

  • Unlimited Dinari: This mod gives you a save file with 99,999,999 Dinari and all chapters unlocked.
  • Faster Stealth Takedowns: Slightly increases the animation speed of the stealth takedowns.
  • Donkey from Shrek: This incredible mod, or should I say, work of art, replaces all horses in the game with Donkey from Shrek. Why? Why not.

I don’t expect the Nexus Mods page for Mafia: The Old Country to be flooded with mods; it’s not that kind of game, but you might see some that add a few neat quality-of-life features, so it’s worth checking out from time to time. For now, the one that skips the intro videos is a must-have.
