Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Save File Location on PC

Don't forget to save!

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is now available on consoles, and PC via Steam. The new release from ATLUS runs great on PC and even the Steam Deck. It also comes with Steam Cloud support so you can easily switch between different devices. However, if you don’t have the most reliable connection, you can manually back up your progress by accessing the Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance save file location on PC.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Save File Location

The save files for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance are available in the following location on PC.

C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Sega\SMT5V\Steam\[STEAM ID]

The save files are located in the folder with your Steam ID, but you can back up the entire Steam folder, which also contains the dump folder.

Faster Navigation

To quickly navigate to the same location, you can use Windows Run. You can bring up Run by pressing the Windows and R keys together.

Enter the following address, which will take you directly to your save files.

%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Roaming/SEGA/SMT5V/Steam

The saves are still in the Steam folder inside SMT5V.

Enable Steam Cloud Support

If you have disabled Steam Cloud support for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, I highly recommend that you enable it. The save files aren’t large at all, and even with a very slow connection, it shouldn’t take long for those to be uploaded and saved on the Steam Cloud. This also allows you to easily access your data on a different device like the Steam Deck.

  • Open Steam, and navigate to your library
  • Here, right-click on Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and select Properties
  • In the General tab, make sure STEAM CLOUD is toggled

Make sure to routinely save during the game as it doesn’t have traditional auto-saving. This new release does have a great quality-of-life feature allowing you to save anywhere by pressing the Left D-Pad arrow.
