Sea of Stars: Where is Bamboo Creek? Exact Location Guide

You'll recognize this area if you played The Messenger.

If you’re trying to collect every Rainbow Conch and open every treasure chest in Sea of Stars, you must visit Bamboo Creek. The area is hidden, though, so finding it may stump you if you don’t know where to look. Here’s where to find Bamboo Creek and its exact location in Sea of Stars.

Bamboo Creek Exact Location in Sea of Stars

Bamboo Creek is located on Mesa Island in Sea of Stars. However, unlike most other areas, it’s off the beaten track, as the path leading to it is obscured by grass.

To find Bamboo Creek on Mesa Island, make your way through Autumn Hills until you reach the overworld map, where you’ll be in an open area with the Lake Turquoise Fishing Pond. Look just above the entrance to Stillsong Marsh, and you’ll see a cluster of bamboo.

Move to the horizontal path at the top of Mesa Island that leads to Lake Turquoise, but instead of walking left toward the Fishing Pond, go in the other direction. This will take you directly to Bamboo Creek. You’ll know you’ve done it correctly when “Bamboo Creek” appears above your party on the overworld map.

All Treasure and Collectibles in Bamboo Creek in Sea of Stars

There are two kinds of treasure waiting for you in Bamboo Creek: a treasure chest and a Rainbow Conch. The treasure chest is the easiest to spot as it’s just northeast of the entrance – you can’t miss it. It contains the Bamboo Slicer weapon for Zale.

The Rainbow Conch is hiding in a blue and gold chest in the small pond at the bottom of the waterfall in the center of the area. Swim in the water to grab it.

Tip:

While it doesn’t serve any purpose, there’s a statue that you can interact with in the bottom left of Bamboo Creek. Doing so will cause either Valere or Zale (depending on who you’re playing as) to say the following:

“The gruesome statue stands, a testament of struggles from a time long past…”

Is Bamboo Creek a “The Messenger” Reference in Sea of Stars?

Yes! Sea of Stars is a prequel to The Messenger, Sabotage Studio’s first game, in which Bamboo Creek is the fifth playable area. In fact, Mesa Island as a whole is one giant nod to The Messenger, also housing other areas from the game, such as Autumn Hills and Glacial Peak.

Bamboo Creek may be a very small area, but it is crucial for players wanting to find all 60 Rainbow Conches and unlock the Sea of Stars True Ending. So make sure to visit it if you’re going for 100%.
