There are few Pokemon as intimidating as the Titan of Steel, Registeel. Something about that cold, impenetrable façade is simply otherworldly and disorienting. But with the right team, you can melt this Raid Boss down to size. Here’s Registeel’s Raid Guide for Pokemon GO, with all weaknesses and counters.
Registeel Raid Guide for Pokemon GO: Weaknesses and Counters
Registeel will arrive in Pokemon GO 5-Star Raids on February 1, 10:00 a.m. local time to February 8, 10:00 a.m. local time. That gives you a full week to try to bring down this Steel Titan with three core weaknesses. But Registeel isn’t a Primordial Pokemon you should take likely. Here’s everything you need to know to come out on top.
And yes, Registeel can be Shiny in Pokemon GO!
First things first. You’re going to need at least three people to take on Registeel, but the more the better. Once you have a few trainers, the Pokemon you select for the fight should include some of Registeel’s most significant weaknesses, which are the following:
- Fighting (x2)
- Fire (x2)
- Ground (x2)
Registeel boasts some significant defense, so even high-level trainers might find themselves struggling, even with STAB moves.
Registeel’s Move Pool is:
Fast Attacks:
- Metal Claw (Steel)
- Rock Smash (Fighting)
- Lock-On (Normal)
Charged Moves:
- Flash Cannon (Steel)
- Hyper Beam (Normal)
- Focus Blast (Fighting)

Registeel has some coverage with these moves, but with the right counters, you’ll be just fine. Here are the best Pokemon to bring, along with the best moves:
- Mega Blaziken with Counter and Blast Burn
- Mega Charizard (Y) with Fire Spin and Blast Burn
- Reshiram with Fire Fang and Fusion Flare
- Shadow Moltres with Fire Spin and Overheat
- Shadow Entei with Fire Fang and Overheat
- Shadow Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch
- Chandelure with Fire Spin and Overheat
- Mamoswine with Mud-Slap and High Horsepower
- Lucario with Counter and Aura Sphere
The chosen Pokemon above get less effective the lower they are on the list. But not every trainer has a Mega Evolved Pokemon or a Pokemon with Legacy or Exclusive moves. So, more accessible Pokemon were added.
Good luck trainer!
