If you like your lions made of metal, then you can’t pass up on Solgaleo. Here’s how to find Solgaleo in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Indigo Disk.
Pokemon Indigo Disk: How to Get Solgaleo in Scarlet & Violet
If you’ve got your eye on Solgaleo, you might have to jump through a few hoops first. To make Solgaleo available in your world, you’ll need to complete the Indigo Disk DLC.
Once you’ve got that done, speak to Snacksworth, who will appear at the Blueberry Academy Entrance. Snacksworth will give you Legendary Treats depending on how many BBQs you’ve completed, with a new Legendary Treat being available for every 10 completed BBQs. Each treat you receive will be linked to a Legendary Pokemon, who will then appear in Paldea.
Unfortunately, the Pokemon Treat you’ll receive is random, so there’s no telling when he’ll give you Solgaleo’s treat.
Once Snacksworth has given you a Legendary Treat, he’ll give you a hint about where that Legendary Pokemon will be. For Solgaleo, the hint is that Snacksworth saw it while on top of the Pokemon League Observatory Deck.
That is by far the clearest hint he’s ever given. So, fly over to the Pokemon League in Paldea, which has its very own waypoint. You’ll spawn in front of the building. However, you won’t be able to walk inside.
Instead, climb the mountains on either side of the League building. Once you get to the top, you’ll be able to jump and glide onto the Observation Deck.
And guess who’s standing right in the center, where you once fought Geeta for Pokemon supremacy? Solgaleo!
How to Beat Solgaleo in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Indigo Disk
Solgaleo might look like a Steel and Fire-Type Pokemon, but it’s actually Steel and Psychic Type. And when you encounter it, it will be level 70.
But despite its typing, Solgaleo will have a robust array of moves. Here are all of Solgaleo’s attacks:
- Metal Burst
- Wild Charge
- Solar Beam
- Flare Blitz
Because of that, it can be difficult to find a Pokemon that can withstand Solgaleo’s barrage. I opted to go with Iron Hands, because it takes half damage from Electricity and Steel, and it has the defense and HP pool to tank Solgaleo’s strongest attacks.
However, Archaludon might be even better, as it takes only a quarter damage from Grass Attacks, half damage from Electric attacks, and half damage from Steel attacks.
