If you’ve been keeping track of the latest in Pokemon GO-flavored developments, then you’ve probably seen the information that data miners have gathered floating around. The next update is being gradually rolled out, but the sheer size and scope of it has had people chomping at the bit to find out what’s in store. Let our Pokemon GO Unova Stone guide tell you what this datamined is, and what we reckon it’s going to be used for.
Pokemon GO Unova Stone Guide — What Is It?
The Unova Stone was discovered by data miners trying to take on Pokemon GO v0.153.0. It’s already basically been confirmed that this latest update is going to add the full Generation 5 Pokedex from the series, which means that the Unova region will be making an appearance. While there are a number of items that have been datamined, the Unova Stone is probably one that fans have the most questions about at the moment.
Just judging from the name of the item, it’s most likely going to be used to evolve certain Generation 5 Pokemon. We’re not sure which ones quite yet, as data mining hasn’t provided that information, but it should conceptually work a lot like the Sinnoh Stone which players are already familiar with. It’s not clear from the information at hand how Pokemon GO players will be able to get their hands on this stone quite yet, so stay tuned for more information — we’ll update this guide when we know more. It could be that the Unova Stone will tie into the Buddy system that’s been hanging around for a little bit now.
Now that you’ve got a bit of a better idea about what the Unova Stone can offer, there’s still a lot about the item that’s a relative unknown. It could be quite some time before the Stone actually becomes functional to players in the game, and it’s still a mystery as to how exactly it’ll end up being obtainable. That being said, our Pokemon GO Unova Stone guide is a place to start!
