Pokemon GO‘s Raid Hours are back. Last week, Niantic Labs announced the debut of Remote Raid Passes, which let you join Raid Battles without having to physically travel all the way to a Gym, and have started a new Raid Hour event to celebrate it. Here’s what you need to know about the return of several legendary Pokemon, via this week’s and next week’s new Raid Hours.
Pokemon GO Legendary Raid Rotation for Raid Hour Event
You can socially distance while still playing Pokemon GO with Remote Raid Passes, which are available for level 5 trainers and up from the in-game store in exchange for 100 PokeCoins. Once you have one in your inventory, you can join any Raid in your area that’s on your Nearby screen by tapping it.
Up to 5 players can join a single Raid via Remote Raid Pass; if you try to jump into a Raid that already has 5 remote players, you end up in a new lobby. Your Pokemon also typically take an attack power penalty when you’re raiding remotely, so you won’t do as much damage as usual. For reasons.
Today marks the third stage of an event Niantic is holding to celebrate the debut of Remote Raid Passes, where certain legendary Pokemon are being added back into the game as five-star encounters in Raids. Both a regular and Shiny version of Virizion will be available in Raids from May 12th through May 19th, and there’s a Raid Hour scheduled for Virizion from 6 to 7 PM tomorrow night, May 13th.
Niantic also announced today that starting on May 19th at 1 PM local time, the legendary Pokemon Terrakion will return as an encounter in five-star Raids, with the possibility of finding a Shiny version. A special Raid Hour for Terrakion is scheduled for the evening of May 20th, from 6 to 7 PM local time.
To summarize, during Raid Hours, raids that feature the associated Pokemon will happen more frequently, giving you more chances to capture them. Tomorrow night is your chance to catch a Virizion, with a chance that it’ll be Shiny, and next Wednesday, May 19th, log in at 6 PM for a Raid Hour featuring Terrakion.
