Pokemon GO continues to introduce new Pokemon into the game during its many events in-game events. The latest Pokemon that is having its time in the spotlight is the Generation VII Pokemon, Passimian. Passimian is a Fighting type Pokemon whose appearance is based on that of a lemur. As of August 11, 2023, during the Pokemon GO World Championships event, you are able to encounter and catch a Passimian in Pokemon GO.
Where to Find Passimian in Pokemon GO
As part of the Pokemon GO World Championships event, Passimian can now be found in Pokemon GO. Currently, Passimian cannot be found in the wild, and you will need to obtain it through one of the following methods:
- Event exclusive Field Research Task – Trade a Pokemon
- Three Star Raid Pokemon
Both methods are relatively easy, as long as you are in an area with Gyms and PokeStops. It really comes down to whether or not you have the ability to trade with another Pokemon GO player. Otherwise, participating in a Passimian raid using either a regular Raid Pass or a Remote Raid Pass will be your best bet.

Can Passimian Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
The question that every Pokemon GO player wants to know as soon as a new Pokemon is introduced into the game. Although there have been occasions where Niantic has released a shiny Pokemon during its initial debut, it isn’t their usual method. Passimian follows this pattern, and as such, you cannot currently catch a shiny Passimian in Pokemon GO.
Whichever method you choose, you will want to act hastily, as it is not known whether or not Passimian will become a regular wild encounter post-event or if it will become hard to find. With an ever-expanding number of Pokemon in the game, it could be a while before Passimian is seen again.
