Pokemon GO:  How to Get a Dragon Scale

Dragon scales in Pokemon GO are incredibly rare and is absolutely imperative when looking to evolve the pokemon Seadra into Kingdra. In order to reach that final form, players will need 100 Horsea candies and a dragon scale in order to evolve them, which then turns Kingdra into a powerful pocket monster perfect for raids and taking over gyms.

Getting 100 Horsea candies is going to take a hot minute, but how hard can one dragon scale be since it’s just one of those? It’s not as easy as it sounds but the bright side is that it is easier than ever before thanks to this week’s Dragon Event, you’re just going to need to get familiar with Pokestops.

Players can scoop up a dragon scale by taking over Gyms and spinning their luck at Pokestops, though the drop rate is incredibly low. When going the Pokestop route, you’re going to need to grind through hundreds of stops to get this drop, butere there is at least an alternative.

Another way to get a dragon scale is to spin a particular Pokestop 7 days consecutively in order to get the desired streak bonus. While this won’t promise you a dragon scale, it does offer the possibility in addition to other evolutionary items like the Sun Stone, Upgrade, Sinnoh Stone, Unova Stone, Metal Coat, and King’s Rock.

Limited-time way to get a dragon scale faster

Luckily, there is a Dragon Week event going on now, as previously mentioned, which offers unique rewards for certain event-related tasks. Complete the task “Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket Grunts” and you’ll get a guaranteed dragon scale, though the event ends on August 7th. Grind it out and get that dragon scale and congrats! You now have a necessary ingredient to evolve into the Kingdra of your dreams.

And that’s how you get a dragon scale in Pokemon GO! How do you feel about how the mobile game has evolved itself since launch? Are you participating in this week’s Dragon Event?
