Pokemon GO February 2024 Community Day Features Chansey: Event Date and Time, Special Research, and More

It's time for another shiny Chanse-y.

Chansey not only hails from generation one but is also an important member of the Pokemon Center staff. Chansey will have the opportunity to shine in the spotlight this February. Find out everything you need to know to make the most of Chansey’s Pokemon GO Community Day in February below.

Pokemon GO February 2024 Community Day Details

Chansey is set to feature in Pokemon GO’s February Community Day. A little different to the usual Community Day which consist of Pokemon with more than one evolution past the featured Pokemon. This time, Chansey has a pre-evolution Happiny, and evolves into Blissey.

Event Date and Time

Pokemon GO’s February Community Day features Chansey, and will be held on Sunday, February 04, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

The Featured Pokemon for Community Day is none other than the real life Squishmallow, Chansey.

Event Eggs

For the duration of the Chansey Community Day, trainers will have the chance to hatch the following Pokemon from eggs obtained during this period.

Happiny who hatch from Eggs obtained during Community Day have a higher likelihood of being shiny.

If you evolve Chansey into Blissey during the event period and the five hours immediately following, you will be rewarded with a Blissey that knows Wild Charge. An interesting choice!

Wild Charge

  • Trainer Battles: 100 power but decreases Defense stat
  • Gyms and raids: 90 power

Post-Community Day Raids

Post-Community Day Raids will begin as soon as Community Day has ended. On Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. Completing one of these special Raids will result in Chansey spawning around the Gym for thirty minutes directly following the raid win.

Reminder:

You cannot use a Remote Raid Pass for these special Post Community Day Raids. They can only be completed in person using either a Regular Paid Pass or a Premium Raid Pass.

Event Bonuses

The following Event Bonuses will be active for the duration of February’s Community Day.

  • Trainers will receive 2X Candy when catching Pokemon.
  • Trainer’s level 31 and above have a 2X chance of receiving XL Candy when catching Pokemon.
  • Eggs placed into Incubators during the event period will have a 1/4 hatch distance.
  • When activated during the event, Lure Modules will last for three hours.
  • When activated during the event, Incense will last for three hours.
  • Trainers can complete an additional Special Trade.
  • Trainers will use 50% less Stardust when trading Pokemon.
  • Trainers who take Snapshots during Community Day will be rewarded with several Chansey encounters.
  • When hatched from an Egg obtained during Community Day, Happiny has a boosted chance of being shiny.

Community Day Special Research Story

The Chansey Community Day Special Research Story can be purchased for $1 USD or the equivalent in your local currency.

Purchasing and completing this story will allow trainers to learn more about the Chansey evolution line whilst receiving additional rewards in the form of both items, Chansey Candy and additional Chansey encounters.

Field Research

During February’s Community Day in Pokemon GO, spinning PokeStops and Gyms during the event period will reward trainers with event-specific Field Research. This Field Research will provide trainers with rewards such as:

  • Chansey encounters
  • Great Balls
  • Stardust

Community Day Event Bundles

Trainers who wish to make the most of Community Day can purchase Event Bundles using real currency or PokeCoins.

Web Store Bundles

Trainers can purchase an Ultra Community Day Box for $9.99 USD from the Pokemon GO Web Store. The Ultra Community Day Box contains the following items:

  • 120 Ultra Balls
  • 15 Silver Pinap Berries
  • 6 Incubators
  • 1 Incense

Event Bundles

Trainers can purchase two different Community Day bundles from the in-game shop.

1350 PokeCoin Box

  • 50 Ultra Balls
  • 5 Super Incubators
  • 1 Elite Charged TM
  • 5 Lucky Eggs

480 PokeCoin Box

  • 30 Ultra Balls
  • 1 Incense
  • 3 Super Incubators
  • 1 Lure Module

PokeStop Showcases and Stickers

During Community Day, various PokeStop locations will be hosting Showcases into which trainers can enter Chansey.

On top of this, Community Day-specific Stickers can be found by spinning PokeStops, opening gifts, or buying them from the in-game shop.

Chansey Community Day looks to be filled to the brim with exciting aspects to partake in. Hopefully, luck is on your side, and you’ll come away with a perfect Blissey to throw into a gym. If not, there’s still a chance you’ll get your hands on some shiny Chansey! In the meantime, it’s almost Porygon Community Day time!
