Oh hey, it's not $70!

Painkiller, the cult-classic first-person shooter from People Can Fly, is being rebooted by Saber Interactive. The new title is a bit different from the original in terms of aesthetics and a focus on cooperative play, but it still has crazy guns that you can only see in Painkiller.

The reboot of Painkiller isn’t a full-priced game, and it’s now available to pre-order across all platforms. Here is everything you’ll receive for pre-ordering it, along with details of its pricing and extra editions.

Painkiller Pre-Order Bonus

If you pre-order Painkiller, you will receive The Iron Crusade Skins Pack, which includes four medieval skins for each character and six unique weapon skins for the Stakegun, SMG, Shotgun, Rocket launcher, Handcanon, and Electrodriver.

The exclusive medieval-themed Iron Crusade skins pack includes:

  • Apostle Knight (Ink)
  • Sage Vizier (Sol)
  • Iron Berzerker (Roch)
  • Hollow Jester (Void)

All the pre-order bonus content is cosmetic, and there is a decent variety here.

In total, you are getting 10 skins, which isn’t too bad as far as pre-order bonuses go.

Painkiller Pricing and Deluxe Edition

Painkiller EditionPrice
Painkiller Standard Edition$40
Painkiller Deluxe Edition$50

While the standard edition of Painkiller is much lower than the typical AAA title, you can spend $10 extra for the deluxe edition, which includes the Season Pass, which will include more skins for characters and weapons as well. Essentially, you’re paying $10 more for additional cosmetics. Unless you really want more weapon skins in Painkiller, I think the standard edition is far more appealing.

Painkiller also has regional pricing on Steam in several regions, which is always appreciated. You can now pre-order Painkiller from the links below:

Painkiller Release Date

Painkiller is coming to PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PS5 on October 9, 2025.

This new Painkiller entry has support for cooperative play as well, with up to three players in total. Each character has unique perks to boost their energy, health, power, and damage.

I hope that the reboot delivers on what made the original release so fun to play, and yes, the gothic design certainly helped, but the real star has always been the wacky weapons. Everything I’ve seen so far has been promising, and I hope that this revival means we’ll see even more Painkiller in the future.
