Publisher Nordic Games is ready to send you back to Hell with the classic Painkiller – now better than ever before.
The team has announced that the game is coming to PC just in time for Halloween on October 31st, and is also being planned for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this January. The game, which is essentially a director’s cut titled Painkiller: Hell and Damnation, is a “totally uncut” version of the game, with all sorts of carnage intact.
The game originally came out in 2004 from the folks at People Can Fly (who have since moved on to Bulletstorm and the forthcoming Gears of War: Judgment), and features plenty of fast, frantic shooting action. It’s also got a dark storyline in tow, as you fight against demonic enemies following a fatal car crash. Ouch.
The game will sell for $19.99 for the standard edition, or you can pony up an extra $10 for the deluxe version, complete with stickers, postcards, a behind-the-scenes artbook, a making-of DVD and a soundtrack, as well as DLC. The console versions will go for $29.99, though no word if they will get a special edition.
We’ll have more details on this game soon!
