After more than seven years of waiting for an Oxenfree sequel, the series will finally make its exciting return in the form of Oxenfree II: Lost Signals. Following numerous delays, the eerie, story-driven follow-up to 2016’s Oxenfree will be coming out very soon, this time published surprisingly by the streaming goliath Netflix. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming title from developer Night School Studio, including the game’s release date, playable platforms, and an explanation of the story description.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals Release Date
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals will release on July 12, 2023, almost exactly seven and half years after the launch of the first game in the series, which came out on January 15, 2016.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals Platforms
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals will be playable on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and PS5. Unlike its predecessor, as of this writing, it does not seem that the long-awaited follow-up to Oxenfree will be coming to Xbox consoles. This is somewhat surprising, as Oxenfree was a timed console exclusive at launch for the Xbox One, and would not arrive on PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch for multiple months or years respectively.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals Explained
According to the game’s official description, “Five years after the events of Oxenfree, Riley returns to her hometown of Camena to investigate mysterious radio signals. What she finds is more than she bargained for.”
