Once Yung Mein has been added to your kingdom, you can access quest 17, A Gift for Gao Jia. This quest tasks you with finding scariwinkles in Ni No Kuni 2. To help players complete this quest, we’ve found the location of scariwinkles in Ni No Kuni 2 to make your job easier. You can’t get them until you have a ship, but that happens during chapter 5 so you should be all set. Read on to find scariwinkles in Ni No Kuni 2.
Where to Find Scariwinkles
- Coral Cave
- Makronos
- Hrydopolis
If you’re okay buying scariwinkles you can find them in Hydropolis in the Nautes Harbor area. One of the vendors there sells scariwinkles. However, you don’t need to buy them unless you’re in a hurry or just have an abundance of money (which is likely). If you don’t want to spend the cash, the best place to find scariwinkles is on Makronos, just south of Hydropolis. There are two main locations where you can find scariwinkles on the island. The first is the chest located on the far west side of the beach. You need to climb up the coral platforms on the left (west) side of the beach, then circle around to reach the red chest where the scariwinkles are found.
After collecting the chest loot, climb back up the west coral platforms and this time continue heading north (up). The coral platforms lead back down to the ground where you can head right to find a blue chest (that contains a pair of multiproof roguish boots) and the Coral Cave.
Several items can be found on the ground inside the cave, and occasionally these items are scariwinkles. You may have to enter and leave several times, but scariwinkles will eventually spawn in the cave. Remember you can hit Options (Start), then X to exit to the world immediately. It took us about four tries before we got our first scariwinkle.
