MultiVersus 1.02 Patch Notes: Big Nerfs, Hitbox Update, Police Defunded

Even Mystery Inc. has lost faith in state law enforcement

It’s big update time! Today not only saw the arrival of new character Gizmo, we also got some significant changes to MultiVersus itself. For one, the promised hitbox changes have arrived, and they look pretty dang substantial. We’re also seeing a ton of nerfs to various characters, addressing many problems the community is plenty familiar with. Also, there was a surprising change to one of Velma’s moves that’s… pretty funny actually.

Big Stuff

  • Gizmo is here! Check out our character guide.
  • Hitbox and hurtbox overhaul has arrived. Check this out:
  • Projectiles modified to have less individualized properties, some now classified as Heavy

Character Nerfs, Buffs and Tweaks

The up special’s previous buff was removed, and it seems like for now the Assassin debuff is totally gone. Also some bug fixes.

Down special and side attack (ground versions) bug fixes, slight changes to air down special and air side attack.

Bugs Bunny
Tons of nerfs! No buffs! Yikes!

Buffs that mostly tweak move properties to work as intended.

Down special speed and recovery buffed. Side attacks tweaked to combo better. Bubbled projectiles no longer do damage until the bubble pops.

Speed buff.

Iron Giant
More like Nerf Giant! Several nerfs to tone down some win rate discrepancies.

Also hit with mostly nerfs. One tweak to neutral special to make spit enemies projectiles.

So many buffs! One nerf changes the angle to his air down attack.

Several tweaks and buffs; nothing labeled as a nerf.

Just two buffs and one nerf. No huge differences, seems like.

Substantial nerfs: no more armor on ground down attack, ground up special jump cancel delayed to prevent double up special combos.

Steven Universe
Slight nerf to up special forcing Steven to land before he can spawn more than two shields.

Slower flight speed, bigger whiff window for that up special, and down special given a cooldown.

Tasty properties tweaked, chicken movement speed and health reduced! Air and down specials buffed slightly.

Tom and Jerry
Nerfs on nerfs on nerfs. Slight buff to Jerry during up special.

Police nerfed out of existence and replaced by Mystery Machine (based). Otherwise just nerfs.

Wonder Woman
Lasso no longer a projectile (RIP to WW mains doing that one BP mission), movement speed and weight slightly decreased.
