Morpeko Pokemon Sword and Shield Location Guide

Trying to pick up a temperamental mouse to rival Marnie's? Our Morpeko Pokemon Sword and Shield location guide should help you do exactly that.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Pokemon Sword and Shield introduced a whole lot of strange-looking critters in the lead-up to the game’s release, with some like Yamper proving to be a real hit upon reveal. Another Pokemon that really hit it off with the community when The Pokemon Company first confirmed whispers of the new roster back in August last year was Morpeko. Mistakenly referred to as Galarian Pikachu initially, this hangry Pokemon really struck a chord with us. If you want one for yourself, then our Morpeko Sword and Shield location guide should help make that dream a reality.

Morpeko Pokemon Sword and Shield Location Guide

You’ll probably already be familiar with Morpeko, whether it’s a matter of all the promotional material for the game or the fact that Marnie is more than happy to beat you over the head with hers at every given opportunity. Morpeko is unique because it has two, well, modes that change based on whether or not it’s hungry – Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode. The Full Belly mode is the Morpeko that you’re used to seeing: it’s basically a slightly more pill-shaped Pikachu without terrifying purple markings, and this is the version that you’re going to encounter in the wild.

Now, if you’re looking for a Morpeko, you can hit up the following places in Pokemon Sword and Shield:

  • Route 7
  • Route 9
  • Lake of Outrage (in Thunderstorms)

It definitely hasn’t got an incredibly high spawn rate, and the only two places where you’ll be able to actually witness Morpekos running amok on the list above are Route 7 and the Lake of Outrage. You won’t be necessarily hitting up the Lake of Outrage til a fair ways into the actual narrative of Pokemon Sword and Shield, so our recommendation would be to camp out on Route 7 while you’re trying to get one. The earlier the better, right?

Now that you’ve got a better idea of where to find this particularly temperamental rodent thanks to our Morpeko Pokemon Sword and Shield location guide, you too can get one of your own and make sure that Marnie isn’t the only Trainer with something cute and deadly on her team.
