Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Acidic Glavenus Guide

If you’re not already familiar with the Glavenus, or your memory has been wiped because of the sheer terror that you felt upon encountering this Acidic variant, then we’ll get you up to speed. The Glavenus is angry. One angry species. This variant is no different. While we would have recommended that you pack a whole bunch of Fire-resistant gear when dealing with the original Glavenus, this will be a bit of a different ball-game.

The Acidic Glavenus, like its base design, enrages and only becomes more lethal when it does. It can chain together some devastating attacks in this stage, especially when it’s got you pinned between its bite and its tail. The Acidic Glavenus is weakest to Fire, Dragon, and then Thunder elemental attacks so make sure that you’re equipped accordingly. We would pay careful attention to getting caught by its tail; it’ll be dripping with venom, and swinging it means that stray toxins are flung about. If you’re hit, your defenses will be lowered, and it will be encouraged to go on the offensive. We would be cautious about maneuvering around the beast.

Our tips and tricks for taking down the Acidic Glavenus are as follows:

  • Make sure that you’re not getting in the way when it rampages
  • If you’re approaching from the rear, watch its tail and the acid spray
  • Try the Glider Mantle to get on top of it
  • Attack its legs, throat and head if possible
  • Make sure you bring Fire, Dragon, and Thunder weapons to this poisonous fight

Now that you have our Monster Hunter World Iceborne Acidic Glavenus guide in front of you, all it should take is a few whacks at this fight with the right gear and loadout for you to make quick work of one of the more unpleasant variants in the game. If you’re struggling with the Glavenus itself and you don’t think you can take this bad boy on without a refresher, then check out our Monster Hunter World Iceborne Glavenus guide.
