Limbus Company How to Beat Canto X Buffet The Crimson God
We will miss you Pwie
Limbus Company’s Canto 10 is finally over and the final third has you face against 3 of the most mechanically demanding bosses the game has created so far. If you don’t pay attention to each of their abilities and passives, it’s game over. Buffet is the toughest of the three in our experience, so here’s a guide on how to beat The Crimson God in Limbus Company.
Recommended Teams
As long as you understand the win conditions of the fight, you do not need to build around one particular status or a specific meta team. What matters more is having reliable clashers/E.G.O., enough sustain to survive a longer fight, and a way to deal with the Le Rouge Senior Staff before they get out of hand.
The following teams will have a relatively easier time against Buffet:
- House of Spiders: The generalist team full of individually strong units. Do not use Ryoshu to cull your team early, instead let them serve as meat shields and clashers.
- Tremor Scorch: A mix between HoS and the new Tremor units that can clash well and work with Meursault’s Capo ID.
- Heishou: If you have the appropriate Gluttony E.G.O.s to win clashes and apply rupture, this team can still dish out ridiculously high damage numbers.
- The Middle: Requires high investment into a few E.G.O.s but let’s you completely ignore the mechanics of the fight to dish out enough damage for the second win condition.
Other teams can work, but these are the teams that will have the easiest time dealing with this boss fight.
Best Meursault IDs for Buffet
While some people are going to be able to pull this fight off with base Meursault, we would suggest not putting yourself through that. Instead, you should opt for some of the stronger more recent Meursault IDs if you have access to them:
- Thumb Capo East Meursault (Now readily available from the Dispenser)
- Blade Lineage Meursault (Especially if you have his E.G.O.)
- Hornet Meursault (Good into long fights and works with Tremor+Scorch)
Chains of Others is especially useful in Phase 2. Buffet stops bleeding SP the way he does during Phase 1, so reducing his Attack Power makes several otherwise annoying clashes much easier.
A good general plan is to let Meursault handle Buffet whenever possible while the rest of the team focuses on the Senior Staff. Meursault won’t die until everyone else does, making him the perfect damage sponge.
Buffet The Crimson God Boss Fight Mechanics Explained
Buffet has two main progression mechanics, Shared with Pwie on your Sinners and Pwie’s Memories on Buffet. You can technically win by killing Buffet normally, but the Memory mechanic is usually the easier and safer route.
Shared with Pwie
All of the Sinners start with the Shared with Pwie status. A lot of Buffet’s skills interact with this status. Most importantly, Buffet loses 10 SP when using certain skills against someone who has Shared with Pwie during Phase 1. You do not need to panic and throw E.G.O at every early clash. Let Buffet burn through his SP and try to keep it around negative 40 to make sure it doesn’t reset back to 0 the next turn.
Pwie’s Memories
Buffet gains Pwie’s Memories when you win specific clashes against his skill La Jouissance, which he uses every 3 turns in Phase 1. Every stack lowers Buffet’s Clash Power and makes the fight easier. This is why I prefer playing around the Memory mechanic instead of trying to brute-force HP. Phase 1 ends once Buffet reaches three Memories, while Phase 2 eventually ends through the fifth Memory and one final clash.

Decision
Winning Buffet’s Memory-related clashes will convert Shared with Pwie on the clashing Sinner into Decision. Once this happens, that Sinner no longer counts as having Shared with Pwie for skills that specifically check for it. Keep track of who still has Shared with Pwie before assigning clashes.
What Triggers Phase 2?
Buffet enters Phase 2 when either:
- Buffet’s HP falls below 25%.
- You apply three stacks of Pwie’s Memories.

I recommend going for the three Memories unless your team is strong enough to immediately burst Buffet down. Phase 2 is more dangerous, and every Memory stack makes The Crimson God easier to clash with. There is not much reason to rush into Phase 2 with fewer Memories unless you are deliberately trying to win through damage.
The Crimson God Buffet Phase 1
Phase 1 is mostly about keeping Buffet under control while dealing with the additional enemies and building up stacks of Pwie’s Memories. Save your Skill 3s for the Le Rouge Senior Staff.
Let Buffet Lose SP
One of Buffet’s Phase 1 passives makes Buffet lose 10 SP when using certain skills against someone with Shared with Pwie. Once Buffet’s SP starts falling, the clashes become more manageable, but if it hits negative 45 it will reset his SP to 0 next turn.
Deal With the Ripped Flesh Before They Transform
The fight starts with three Ripped Flesh of the Crimson God alongside Buffet. Buffet eventually uses an unblockable skill to turn them into Le Rouge Senior Staff. The important thing here is that the HP of the Ripped Flesh affects the resulting Senior Staff. The lower you get their HP before the transformation, the less SP the Staff starts with.

Break the shields they gain at turn start and damage the Ripped Flesh whenever you have spare attacks, this delays the spawn of the Le Rouge Senior Staff.
Prioritize the Le Rouge Senior Staff
Once they transform, the Senior Staff should become your main target. If you leave the Staff alive, they can buff some of Buffet’s more dangerous skills and eventually become strong enough to start deleting Sinners themselves.
During turns where the Staff are active, my priority is usually:
- Kill dangerous Senior Staff.
- Win Buffet’s AoE clashes
- Have Meursault tank Buffet’s attacks or deal AoE damage to Senior Staff
- Put leftover damage into Buffet.
Note that Buffet applies a buff to the three Senior Staff enemies which reduces their HP to 50% but improves their clashing. AoE attacks, Skill 3, and EGOs are the way to go here, because Buffet unstaggers and counterattacks with the Staff Members if you stagger them without killing them. Try to calculate your damage and get them in one go.
Buffet’s Memory attack becomes stronger based on how many Le Rouge Senior Staff are still alive which can become the biggest hurdle to clearing the fight.
Track Bleed And L’Abject
L’Abject makes Bleed stacks hurt your units a lot more and can quickly drain your units health. Reduce your L’Abject stacks when given the chance and make sure to track Bleed on units before assigning clashes. This is because, some clashes become harder with more Bleed while others convert into Unbreakable Coins if the clashing unit doesn’t have Bleed.
The Crimson God Buffet Phase 2
Phase 2 removes the additional enemies and Buffet gets seven skill slots, stops losing SP the way they did in Phase 1, and starts throwing out more AoE attacks. Luckily, they also start using the Pwie’s Memory skill more quickly so you can end the fight fast if you just focus on surviving and winning those key clashes.
It’s not much different from Phase 1, only that the pressure gets higher and your resources have been depleted. There are two main things to keep in mind during Phase 2 of The Crimson God boss fight.
Clash the Counter to Remove L’Abject
Buffet gains an AoE during Phase 2 that applies L’Abject even when you win the clash. Buffet also gains a clashable Counter that reduces your stacks of L’Abject that they use every other turn. As long as you keep in mind how clashing with Counters works, you can manipualate it to ensure that the Sinners with the highest L’Abject can remove it every other turn.

If you are going to receive L’Abject from Buffet’s AoE on the same turn, resolve the AoE first and then trigger the Counter afterward. If a Sinner reaches five L’Abject and Buffet attacks them, it triggers a powerful follow-up attack that can easily kill your team.
Reach 5 Pwie’s Memories
As long as you manage L’Abject and clash against La Castration, you will reach 5 Pwie’s Memories within 3-4 turns of Phase 2. Going down the memory route while winning all clashes means Buffet will use La Castration on turns 11 and 13. Win those and you’ve completed the fight. Buffet stops attacking and the fight ends after one turn of attacking.

Additional Tips
- Use Base E.G.O for important clashes: Base EGOs are clutch in this fight and can clash well despite consuming very little resources. Plus they don’t hurt your SP.
- Save strong skills for the Senior Staff: If you can guarantee a Staff kill before Buffet unstaggering them becomes a problem, do that first.
- Use Thumb Rodion if Possible: Thumb Rodion clashes well, has an automatic evade even if she loses a clash, and Disposal can make quick work of the Le Rouge Senior Staff.
- Use Meursault’s Regret EGO: Not only does it clash extremely high and have one of the best EGO passives, it cleanses Bleed and L’Abject from Meursault.
- Let Meursault tank. If Buffet has a single-target attack that is annoying but not important, let Meursault take it while the rest of the team handles Staff or important clashes. For example, if an attack targets only Meursault, let it happen.
- Chains of Others is excellent in Phase 2. Buffet rolls much higher once he stops losing SP, and Chains helps bring those numbers back down. Use it instead of higher cost EGOs because you’ll need the resources later.
- Fourth Match Flame can brute force all Clashes: As long as you have Ryoshu with Threadspin V on her 4th Match Flame EGO alive with the resources to use it, you can win the Memory clashes by stalling the fight.
- Save Morositas for the 2nd Phase: Save Morositas for when you reach the second phase and the skills suddenly become too difficult to clash. The 2nd Phase is shorter and you’ll get more value out of it.
- Use a Revive if You Must: Since there is no EX requirement for 10-4 Grand Magasin Sisyphe, you can pay 40 Lunacy for a revive that lets you clear the bossfight. There is no penalty for using it.
Overall this fight demands you pass DPS checks, tanking checks, and clashing checks, all while figuring out the unique way to ‘beat’ this boss, making it one of the hardest bosses Project Moon has made to date.
