There is plenty of excitement in the Pokemon community with the recent reveal that a new Mythical character called Zarude will be coming to the worlds of Sword and Shield. One of the most significant aspects of Zarude is that the character knows the Leaf Guard ability. This is a powerful ability that will likely make Zarude a formidable character. Fortunately, we have everything you need to know about this Leaf Guard ability covered for you.
Leaf Guard Pokemon
This ability prevents its users from being affected by non-volatile status conditions and the Yawn move during terms of harsh sunlight. However, it does not change status conditions that were applied before the severe sunlight weather was activated. It also stops the impact of the move Rest and does not provide any effect outside of battle.
If a character with this ability becomes drowsy from Yawn, it will be kept awake by Leaf Guard if harsh sunlight appears when it would fall asleep from Yawn being used on it.
Leaf Guard is a beneficial ability that can help characters like Zarude not be affected by a range of abilities that would leave otherwise leave them vulnerable to attacks. It will no doubt help Zarude in all of the battles it will be apart of heading into the future.
