Playing with all the liquids and pipelines in Satisfactory is a daunting task. Initially, you’ll be annoyed with all the byproducts as they can destroy your production lines. But when you get to handling fuel, it’ll all be worth doing since it’ll give you a ton of megawatts for your whole power grid. However, as you discover more types of fuels, they become increasingly hard to produce and handle, specifically when you reach Turbofuel or even Rocket Fuel. But are these Turbofuel or Rocket Fuels worth it in Satisfactory 1.0? Here’s everything you need to know about these fuels.
Is Turbofuel Worth Making in Satisfactory 1.0? -Answered
In Satisfactory, fuel is used for various things, such as power, vehicles, and drones. Depending on your current progression, the priority of fuel changes. Initially, you want to use fuel to make power. Refineries create fuel from Crude Oil and go into Fuel Generators to make power. Simple oil production setups for fuel are quite easy compared to other production lines like Alumina Solutions or even NItrogen Gas. However, when you get to Turbofuel, they become a bit more difficult.
How to Make Turbofuel in Satisfactory
To craft Turbofuel, you’ll first need to unlock the recipe in the MAM within the Sulfur tree. Unlocking the Turbofuel node requires:
- 1 Hard Drive
- 15 Compacted Coal
- 50 Packaged Fuel
Note – Compacted Coal will also need to be researched at the MAM within the same Sulfur tree. Unlocking Compact Coal requires:
- 1 Hard Drive
- 25 Sulfur
- 25 Coal
Once the recipe is unlocked, you can start processing Turbofuel. To make Turbofuel, you’ll need to supply a Refinery with Fuel and Compacted Coal.
- Fuel is made by supplying a Refinery with Crude Oil.
- Compact Coal is made by supplying an Assemlber with Coal and Sulfur.
If you have Sulfur and Coal resources close to your Oil production lines, then Turbofuel is worth making. If they are too far away, it may take a few hours for you to bring these resources to the area. It might not be worth it to increase your power, but here’s a look at what you are missing if you skip it.
How Much Power Does Turbofuel Make in Satisfactory?
Here are the production rates for power generation with regard to regular fuel and Turbofuel:
- 250 MW per 20 cubic meters per minute production of regular Fuel.
- 250 MW per 7.5 cubic meters per minute production of Turbofuel.
When a Fuel-Powered Generator is overclocked to 250%, you’ll get 625 MW for 18.75 cubic meters per minute production of Turbofuel. Since the 250 MW is fixed, you’ll need a ton of Power Shards to make use of these Turbofuel as power. The general rule in Power Shards is to always use it on raw resources like Miners, Oil Extractors, Resource Wells, and others. So, it isn’t worth it to use Turbofuel as power. In a way, you are close to unlocking a different power source when you reach Turbofuel anyway.
Other Uses for Turbofuel in Satisfactory
Things get more interesting when you are using fuel for something else. You can use fuel for:
- Jetpacks
- Explorers (trucks)
- Drones
- Power
With regards to Jetpacks, Turbofuel gives you more lift and a slight increase in flight time. Explorers and Drones will require less refueling when using Packaged Turbofuel compared to Packaged Fuel. Again, it is more efficient, but it is worth doing? For fuel for vehicles and Jetpacks, the answer should be yes, but you’ll have to package these Turbofuel production lines.
The two next upgrades for fuel are Rocket Fuel and Batteries. Both are extremely complicated, so making Turbofuel for exploration and vehicles will be useful for a long time, depending on your progression.
