Phantom Blade Zero was first revealed at the PlayStation Showcase back in 2023 with a lengthy trailer featuring a mix of gameplay and cinematics. The action title is described as stylish kungfu punk by the developers and features fast-paced combat, some jaw-dropping visuals, and wuxian influence in its presentation and design. Though, will Xbox Series S|X owners be able to experience Phantom Blade Zero? Here’s everything we know so far.

Is Phantom Blade Zero Coming to Xbox Series S|X?

As of writing, Phantom Blade Zero is not coming to Xbox Series S|X and there has been no indication by S-GAME that it is.

The developers have confirmed during a Q&A on Twitter, that while the title was revealed at PlayStation Showcase, Phantom Blade Zero is not an exclusive, and S-GAME is an independent studio with no current exclusivity deal in place at this time. Here is the full quote:

We’ve noticed that some press outlets are calling Phantom Blade Zero “PlayStation exclusive”, which is not true; S-GAME is an independent developer and there’s no exclusive deal at this time.

This means that the developers can release an Xbox version if they wish to do so. They haven’t revealed why an Xbox version isn’t in development, but it’s possible that the Series S console is potentially holding it back.

Phantom Blade Zero Confirmed Platforms

In the same FAQ, S-GAME has confirmed that Phantom Blade Zero is coming to both PC and PlayStation 5. You can check out the latest trailer from Summer Games Fest 2024 below.

Phantom Blade Zero still doesn’t have a release date, and the title will be playable at following events throughout 2024:

  • ChinaJoy – Shanghai – July 26 – July 29
  • Gamescom – Cologne – August 21 – August 25
  • Tokyo Game Show – Tokyo – September 28 – September 29

While it’s certainly possible that Phantom Blade Zero can be released on Xbox eventually, or even at launch, there is no indication that it’s in the studio’s plans at the moment. Speaking of clarity, the developers also had to confirm that the title isn’t a Soulslike despite speculation from multiple outlets and players.
